The Holy Goalie

Agree that it shouldn't allowed in football. Practise your own religion in your own way but don't try and push it on others. Brian Irvine the perfect case example. Huge huge god man who did it his own way and never bothered anyone else with it!!

Boruc is a prick because he didnt shake hands with the opposition after a game not because he crossed himself. he has a right to do this regardless of where it is. these idiots who find it offensive are the ones who need a reality check.

if they are genuine religous people then they wouldnt be offended by it at all. this constant need from OF tinks to feel like they are offended by something is laughable and childish.

As already said, agree not for crossing himself but if he turns deliberately and does it to incite opposition fans then that is a problem.

i see where you are coming from. the SFA need to come out publicy and tell these hun ***kers to shut up and get on with supporting their team.

Both sides as bad as each other trying to score points on each other on the terraces. But when it spreads to players using religion to try and incite a crowd and getting away with it, then Scottish football is doomed.

As Padre has explained he doesnt do this. However if for example Celtic scored and he turned round looking at Rangers fans and then did it then i would totally agree with you.

I find it no different to when some of our fans "bless themselves" in front of Rangers fans... Yeah he's a grade A tool, but it doesn't bother me. As someone said, he just opitomises what we hate about the Old Firm, being an arrogant immature prick, but sadly a decent keeper. The fact he can't shake hands with someone is just lame and pathetic. As Nespa said, if rugger buggers can do it, why can't they?

He did the exact same as he does everywhere. He didn't even look in the direction of the rangers fans.

They're bigots who like to point the finger at everyone but themselves, its pathetic.

There have been compliants made against Boruc at Ibrox, Tannadice, Tynecastle and Pittodrie and probably other grounds. The media jumped on Boruc crossing himself as the reason the police became involved and it had nothing to do with that. It is the other inflammatory gestures which get him into soapy to the point that police officers on duty at games behind his goal are briefed to keep an eye on his shenanigans.

The guy is a complete fud.

On the Juan Sara topic, I also didn't like the T-shirt slogans. I don't feel the need to display my religious beliefs (or lack of) on a t-shirt, so why should he?

A player proudly showing off a 'Jesus is a ***t' t-shirt would probably be arrested.

On the 'Holy goalie' debate, I'm in the fud corner.

Who gives a flying ***k?..........A few of you by the looks.

I've met Boric's translator - she's a Polish girl who is also an artist. One of her works was a huge portrait of John Paul II which was commissioned by Artur Boric. He is a devout Catholic which is is fair enough but when you consider his comments, 'I don't have to love anyone. I don't like this club, or these players.' - it's not exactly promoting the end of sectarianism within the Old Firm and given his background, it could be assumed that Boric is a bigot who doesn't like Protestants or anyone representing a Protestant institution. I'm not suggesting this is the case, but it wouldn't be too outlandish a suggestion to make.

Boric is entitled to his beliefs but when you play for an Old Firm Club, you need to think about your actions and the consequences they may have.

I am sure the rangers team has many devout catholics playing for them also. If he isnt shaking the rangers players hands for religeous reasons he is just as much of a bigot as anyone else. I know protestant celtic fans and catholic rangers fans so it shouldnt be an issue these days anyway.

I remember at the time it being said that boruc wasnt cautioned just for crossing himself, apparently he was making other gestures to the rangers fans. Wouldnt be surprised, given celtic and their paranoid attitude that everyone is out to get them because of their religeon.
