Bobby Connor
As ever the EPL is over-rated and the rest piggy backs along. If anyone watched the Edinburgh Derby followed by the West Ham Bolton game on Sunday, there was no doubt which one had the better football and was the better spectacle, but you'd never convince an Englishman, none of whom will have watched the former game of course. You'll never meet a more insular person than an English football fan when it comes to Scottish football. Totally and utterly disinterested. I watched Scotland play BRAZIL during the 98 WC in the Dry Bar in Manchester (The first game of the World Cup for feck's sake) and they wernae even facing towards the telly. The most shallow and insular footy fans ever IMO. And of course they are all experts in our game and 'how shite it is', despite resolutely refusing to watch even a couple of minutes of a solitary match and completely ignoring the fact that our national and club teams have given them regular doings over the years. Just try asking them to put a Scottish game on the TV, even when there's no English footy on at the same time. They will either sneer at you or flat refuse. But of course when you then laugh as they fall on their arses they trot out the same old 'we want you to win so why don't you support us? You've got a chip on your shoulder! 'Disgraceful!' they say. 'You've got to be kidding me!' says I. Anyway, whatever these c*cks say it's about time more Scots woke up to the fact that their 'super duper wonder league' is a cancer on Scottish football and should be ignored at all costs. Smokiedon made a great point on this a while ago. there is hee haw scottish football on terrestrial tv these days. When i grew up you had sportscene on a sat night then scotsport on the sunday afternoon. Kids now are tucked up in their beds by the time the hideously sh*t e scotsport comes on the telly and the paltry 30 mins that the beeb give us on wed isnt much better at 10pm. No wonder there are so many kids going around with man u/ liverpool etc tops on. they only get to see english games. This is one of the reasons for dwindling crowds imo Link to comment
Madbad
Total crap! Just means the Walsalls and Peterboroughs of this world will be able to pay players more than we can, couple that with TV exposure and you can see a further decanting of SPL players to engerlund...a la McNaughton et al. Although credit where it's due, I'vbe just moved to a small village outside Coventry, and I got the Dons game on last week in one of the pubs, no complaints at all. Big test on Thursday though, as we clash with Everton, that being said I doubt many will watch that either, crossing alot of fongers. Link to comment

Sharpie
Do you think BBC Scotland would stop showing the Sunday afternoon Eastenders/River City omnibus in favour of Hull v Bristol City? Whilst that would be somewhat of a disaster in itself ; I was thinking more along the lines of the Championship clubs being in a better financial shape and so making it even easier to cherry pick the best of the SPL players (who don't end up at the Old Firm).
