OddJob
I'm starting to question that after some of the bizzare decisions i've seen as of late. The ultimate shocker was the Blackburn v.s Everton game: 1. Andy Johnson assaulted in the box in full view of ref and linesman, no penalty awarded2. David Dunn scoops the ball away from Phil Neville, free kick given but no yellow card despite already having been cautioned earlier3. A perfectly good goal scored from Johnson astonishingly disallowed for offsides despite there being at least 3 Blackburn players playing him onside. what does everyone else think, are they just as bad or is there still a big gap between the 2 countries refereeing wise? Guest glasgowdon
I can think of any league in Europe where the refs are better than ours. Italy - corrupt.Spain - look at a player wrongly and win a free kickGermany - not sure.Holland - not sure. I think ours are all in all pretty average with the exception of refs with obvious bias. K-9
And the EPL referees are all full time nowadays. Have to wonder exactly what they do during week. Do they actually talk each other through games? Not even close to consistency from them. Link to comment
chaos_defrost
Just as bad. Used to always think they were better for some reason but they are just as bad! Link to comment

Scottish refs (from what little I see) are well ahead of them. At the moment, there is no ref that you can say, without fear that you'll get a good game out of. The best are probably Howard Webb (who has been regularly villified in the past), and Uriah Rennie who was demoted to the Championship a couple of seasons ago. The fact these are two of their best sums up the appalling state of refereeing in England. Link to comment

Did you see the Real Madrid game last night? Ramos blocked a cross and a free kick was given which lead to a goal. Link to comment
E-P-K
The AJ offside decision makes a mockery of the new offside rules. When the ball was played through he was in an offside position, However he was back tracking and was not involved in active play, So the flag stayed down. It was when the Everton player squared the ball into the box to AJ that the flag went up, Even though there was 3 Blackburn players playing him on. This is something that Henry and RVN did all the time during there time in the EPL. Link to comment
