zander
4-3-3 and no Boyd, losing faith in Burley by the minute. How many games has Boyd played this year? Doesnt deserve a start an Old Firm substitute even at a push. Link to comment

walkingonglass
I think he's terrible, but to be fair; He knew exactly what he was doing with the goal and he took it well, and he made 2/3 really good and important challenges. Blinkers off boys! Link to comment

Blinkers off boys! Reminded me of Zidane's bullet head in the World Cup Final 98! Fair play to him, actually. Written off by absolutely everyone, but still put in a decent shift. Wouldn't hold much hope if he gets to man mark Robben though . . Link to comment
florin_raducioiu
Burley is correct with his comments of limited ability in my opinion. Despite him going public with that maybe being wrong, it looks as though it's only spurred him on to prove all the critics wrong and credit to him for this. However, due to his limited ability, I do not believe he should be in the squad if we have all of our defenders fit. Having said that, his attitude is one that could earn him further call ups. Complete opposite to guys like Weir and McCulloch who have spat the dummy out and quit when things haven't been going their way. Link to comment
vanderark14
this whole broadfoot thing reminds me of when Hutton first came on to the scotland scene. not many people thought he would turn out as good as he has and he gt alot of stick. now hutton should be one of the first names on the team sheet. barassie_afc
er Hutton is 10 times the player big kirk is, but I will say this i would have clubfoot ahead of mcmanus for next game, he has been deplorable for scotland Link to comment
baconman
According to some it doesnt matter who the player is, if he is playing for the wrong club hes automatically sh*te?!! That in my opinion is pure ignorance. I dont especially rate Broadfoot and and still dont, but you cant deny he did well on Wed. He got stuck in, made some good runs down the wing and put some decent balls into the box. In fact i had a similar opinion of Huttton we he first appreared. He improved and with that adds more strength to out national team. If Broadfoot can do the same i welcome that regardless of who he plays his club football with. Link to comment

Hutton when fit will remain 1st choice and Alexander may well be phased out. Burley stated that clubfoot has done well to get where is in the game due to his 'limited ability' and had no fears about playing him against Iceland due to the european experience he's gained playing for the huns. But if that is the only qualifacation you need to represent Scotland is pulling on a Hun top, then i shake my head. Would Clubfoot be so spoken about if he was still turning out for St Mirren? Probably not. He might well have put in decent performances, but wouldn't be considered for Scotland. Who else can we consider for the right back squad slot in place of Clubfoot? McNaughton:Playing in a highly competitive league. Whittaker:Plays for the hun's so automatically falls into the reckoning. Harte:Again playing in a highly competitive league. And had rumours been true a couple of seasons ago of the Tims interest, would probably be in subsequent squads. Neilson:Not sure, solid enough i suppose. But no. Tokely:Animal and has issues with women. ALLEDGEDLY Foster: According to McKimmie he's good enough, but i don't think so. Any more options are not viable and we'd be scraping the bottom of the barrell. Some would say we have already!! Link to comment

Any more options are not viable and we'd be scraping the bottom of the barrell. Some would say we have already!! With regards to the part in bold. Broadfoot has had experience in europe as you have stated, something he wouldn't have had at St Mirren so NO, he wouldn't have been called up if he was still at St Mirren. Maybe it is because he's playing for the huns but playing for them regularly in europe and domestically is obviously better than playing for a poor St Mirren side. That's just me clearing up your point, not justifying his call up or having a go, as weeks ago I joked about the old firm bias when it came to call ups saying "you know what's gonna happen next, bl00dy Kirk Broadfoot will be getting a callup", and not to my surprise, there he is in the squad. Again though, fair play to him for stepping up to the plate and putting in a good shift to prove the doubters wrong. If he can produce that level of performance with the same sort of committment and desire then I'm not too bothered about him being in the squad but only if we have players in his position out.
