Lang Bar
So Gerrard got to the ball first, played it, then was barged by the defender? (even if it was accidental from the defender) Imagine the ball had been on the ground. Gerrard got it it first with his foot, then was barged/tripped whether accidentally or not by an opposition player. Would that be a free-kick/penalty? The defender is clearly seen focussed on the ball, which he would have won and headed clear, until Gerrard came steaming through him to get to the ball first.I wouldn't say that Gerrard intended to cheat, but instead tried to make the most of it so that he didn't get booked. It was without doubt worth a booking, and so incredible that the decision went Gerrard's way.No doubt that this is a case of a referee trying to make ammends for an earlier error. macca18
Cant even cast my mind back to his last blatant dive! Chelsea when Lampard pulled out the tackle. Ridiculous! Link to comment

fatshaft
Not Liverpools fault. Much like the decisions united get against celtic bolton and many more. The amount of attention Liverpool get on this board is incredible! Some jealousy on this forum!!Something I'd never be jealous of is a frigging despicable Scouser. Rather than so much jealousy, I'd say so much disgust. Link to comment
jeffers
It was a Pen, because!!, the ball was on the spot and then it hit the net, you win some you lose some, End Of!!, Link to comment

Players play for penalties all the time, but Gerrard was more than touched. Link to comment
johnstrac
Same kind of cheating as our own Lee Miller does every game. Doesn't make it right however. Link to comment

Guest stoney
Did the ball get put on the spot? Did it hit the net? Did score show 1-1? End of........ Anywhere else on the pitch and it would have been a free-kick. A lot of bitter bitter people on here, I've always said that about you stoney, and fishing with a few comments SHIRLEY!!!!! Most notorious diver in the EPL plays in the red of Minkchester.... Yes a free kick to Athletico Anyways at the end of the day after cheating you could still only manage a draw at home getting beat from spurs and drawing at home with a micky mouse spanish side - not been your week has it, easy 3 points on sat against WBA Though Link to comment

Guest the shepherd
It was never a penalty as we all know regardless of a couple of views on here saying it was. Mariana Pernia was trying to back out of the challenge whilst Stevie Gerrard had only one thing on his mind and that was to clatter the defender and dupe the linesman into awarding the penalty knowing full well that he would be swayed by the baying mob of scousers behind him and to the side of him. Don't wish to be critical but the linesman is not capable of manning the line in such a high profile game if he is influenced by home fans and not using his own brain. His decision cost me a bit of cash ( Link to comment
Guest stoney
Where are Newcastle and Everton? Newcastle is in the north east of england and everton is in liverpool, if you had been to liverpool this season you would have known the answer to that question. Link to comment

BUNTS
Here's an excert taken from one of my favourite t-shirts. It pretty much some up my thoughts on Liverpool fc. Choose Liverpool. Choose the dole queue. Choose to scam disability benefit. Choose mind-numbing, grinding efficiency over flair. Choose Torben Piechnik, Istvan Kozma and Paul Stewart. Choose not to win a single league title since the backpass rule was implemented. Choose penalties. Choose car stereos, hubcaps and stanley knives. Choose to trade on your proud sense of tradition and then not lift a finger in protest when two American billionaires who don't even know the name of your club decide to buy it. Choose to win the European Cup whilst only having to play seven matches. Choose to bask in a perpetual, sickening, media love-in. Choose celebrities who frigg off out of your city as soon as they have earned the money to do so and then spend the rest of their lives harping on about how wonderful it is. Choose to sing about Munich until confronted with your own tragedy. Choose to end it all in an orgy of self pity, just another excuse to perpetuate the grief culture spawned by your selfish, insular frigged-up excuse for a city. Choose your future. Choose Scouse. On Topic: Gerrard is a cheat. If Ronaldo or any other forieigner had went down like he did, he would have got absolutely slated by the press but because it was good ol' Stevie G, he get a tap on the back for being smart. It disgusts me! Link to comment

Guest stoney
I dont need to worry about one of games, my team will either be top or 2nd come the end of the season, so what is there to be bitter about. Guest rocket_scientist
Hey don't let me get in the way of a reet guid battle you two, but I reckon this may be the first year for many that Liverpool finish above Man Yoo. I thought Fergie stopping Chelski's 3 in a row was awesome, and to get the BIG double last year was fantastic, but Liverpool look really good this year. On topic - Gerrard didn't cheat. Guest stoney
It doesn't really kill me. I do want to win the league, but its not going killing me. The fact you're bitter is when you can't accept, raising a point - I bring you up about, then you disappear into yabbling on about something else. Completely avoid the point you raised cause I pissed all over what you were saying. Bitter You mean like tuesday when you stormed off a thread in the huff because you were found to be telling fibs?
