Granted they messed up against stoke but generally they are grinding the wins out. Apart fae Stoke away last week, they have had: Liverpool 2-2 HullLiverpool 0-0 West HamLiverpool 0-0 FulhamLiverpool 0-0 StokeAston Villa 0-0 Liverpool Admittedly they have ground out a few wins (very luckily in some cases) but with the exception of the Villa game, these are all home games that they should be winning if they have aspirations of claiming the title. The main reason they are top is because they beat Chelsea and Man U and drew with Arsenal away. Link to comment

Red Dragon
Man U...... have equally bad draws against low down teams also, short memories. Spurs 0 - 0 Man UVilla 0 - 0 Man UEverton 1- 1 Man UChelsea 1 - 1 Man UMan U 1 - 1 Newcastle See the difference? With the exception of Newcastle (and maybe Spurs ), all draws difficult away ties compared to home games you should be winning. And 'Pool were truely jammy earlier in the season with some of the late wins and deflected goals. Liverpool 2-2 HullLiverpool 0-0 West HamLiverpool 0-0 FulhamLiverpool 0-0 StokeAston Villa 0-0 Liverpool - Only acceptable result out of this lot. Link to comment
Red Dragon
When Man U win it's world class, but when we win it's jammy.................hahahahahaha! Who said that? Not me. But to deny some of the point Liverpool picked up earlier in the season did not have an element of fortune about them is like arguing that David Murray could run 100m faster than Ivan Sproule. A fine example....... Liverpool 2-1 Middlesbrough Pogatetz o.g. 86 Mido 70 Gerrard 90+4 Also, you didn't address the point that Liverpool have dropped numerous points at home to teams they should be beating. When presented with the facts that what draws Man U have had vs Liverpool, you would consider the results obtained by Man U as by far the more acceptable between the two. Link to comment
Red Dragon
We have dropped points to lesser teams, but my point was so have Man United and Chelsea. We dropped points at home which we shouldn't have. You play from first whistle to last.........Liverpool scored in the 94th minute because they played until the final whistle, how is it jammy? Maybe not you, but when Man U score a 'lucky goal' in the 90th minute or a deflected goal, they are labelled 'world class' by many members on here, but the moment Liverpool do it - it is labelled 'jammy'. It's quite an arrogant view point to be honest, but I'm used to it now, and I've learnt to laugh it off as I did above. Every team has an 'element' of luck some where in a season. We are normally slow starters and then go on a very good run at the end of the season then we curse our season and look back at the slow start we always get........we've got the good start, and now I think we can build on it - and really be there or there abouts at the end of the season. I'd suggest that with the exception of the Man u and Chelsea games, you've had a nothing more than a reasonable start as the dropped points suggest. Granted, factor in these two wins and you could consider it a decent start though one which still sees you second with the prospect of playing the champions (and more than likely leaders come that time) away from home. Scoring in the 4th minute of added time is jammy, no two ways about it. Much like Man U winning the CL in extra time. Of course you need luck, but it seems Liverpool might have used theirs up. Anyways, I don't know why I'm debating this as the bottle was well and truely smashed last week. Link to comment

Red Dragon
You were doing quite well in a grown up debate until this point........ I wouldn't even call it debate because you don't seem to have a clue what you're going on about (personally). Where did this come from? I counter your points and provide opinions of my own and suddely, because you appear not to be able to debate any further (argument lost) or disagree with something, I don't have a clue. Personally by all acocunts, what ever that might mean? Come back when you can tell me why I don't have a clue and we can talk some more. Link to comment

Red Dragon
Ok, maybe sounds like you don't have a clue what you're talking about, but couple of things that you don't have a clue what you're talking about - and not the whole debate. The fact of the matter is, you're saying our bottle went last week, when the season ain't even over yet. The second bit is the fact that you listed draws that we've had at home, when Man U have had equally as bad results........ That's the 2 points that I feel you were completely wrong with. I don't really get it personally. Its the same as others coming on here (not you) and saying "oh lucky Liverpool, scoring in last minute" but when Man U do it, its "world class from Man U"......its pretty narrow minded if you ask me. I'm not saying you're 'one of them' so I'm not labelling you. I can see how my "don't know what you're taling about" comment can be perceived but it was in connection more than anything with the "bottle went" comment you made. The lost bottle was in relation to Benitez losing it - a sign that the pressure is beginning to show. Of course time will tell what the impact of this will be but early indication initial indications (draw vs Stoke) aren't good. You say Man U have had equally bad results. I beg to differ - 1 point vs Stoke at home (or away for that matter) is a worse result that 1 point vs Villa away, drawing at home to Hull is a worse result than drawing away to Everton. Guest LondonScottish
Liverpool have got a Hell of a chance this year, and if their "dip in form" with all those draws has kept them at the top, I would expect a decent run of wins sometime soon. However, some of these 2 point losses against lower standard teams may be the undoing of them come May, as they could potentially be 8 or so clear at the moment. The worry for Liverpool is that Manchester have always been the stronger finishers over the last 17 games or so, over the last ten years I think. Link to comment
Guest LondonScottish
The last part can be reversed also.........Liverpool are always strong finishers, but what does us is the poor start we have to seasons. I've got fingers crossed. If there is any season that I want Liverpool to win it, it's this year!!!! Liverpool are strong finishers, but I don't think they've amassed more points in the last 17 games than Manchester Utd in any of the last 10 seasons. Link to comment
