JFK
He started the season well and I thought he looked o.k at the back. He's just getting worse and worse at the back. he's a liability and a luxury player who costs us as many goals as he creates. Get considine or foster into left back. Link to comment
chaos_defrost
or teams have figured him out and figured out that our LH side doesnt have a lot of defensive qualities about it with Mulgrew and aluko both wanting to get forward and neither being the best defensively It's not that he gets forward that's the problem, he should be encouraged to get forward. It's just that he can't defend. It looks like he doesn't know how to defend. His positioning for start is something that could be improved on with good coaching. Link to comment
Timothy Spall
so what u r saying is he will never get good? haha considine and diamond are pish. if the board got off there arses and signed players they wouldnt get a game Link to comment

I really do think those two missed out not having a proper experienced CB beside them either on matchdays or in training. Experience and coaching counts for a Hell of a lot when youngsters are making errors. Link to comment

I feel both have went backwards without anderson beside them keeping them right and pointing out a better position they should be in than the one they are standing in. However Zander is old enough and experienced enough now to concentrate for the entire of a match yet he does still seem prone to odd wander of concentration and this to me is worrying. If he is not able to concentrate for an entire match now will he ever be? Link to comment
K-9
A settled formation and run with same partner in central defense would certainly help. Link to comment

I proper CB beside Diamond would keep him focused, gee him up, improve his positioning, and general game. Link to comment
OneZanderDiamond
There are only minor problems with Diamond and Considine. If they get a settled run together they will be fine. The main problem is Mulgrew Link to comment

Site Sponsor RTYD Posted April 7, 2009 Site Sponsor Share Posted April 7, 2009 got to disagree....i dont think he is a leftback but i think he could do a job in left mid....but then where would Aluko sit? Through the middle Link to comment

forbesz1903
Through the middle In the games Aluko has played through the middle he has been piss. He has finally rediscovered the form he had before JC tried to single handedly reck his career, much the same way as he does with Foster, Mackie, Maguire, Severin. A player can not be expected to play in several different positions and still put in a good performance. Foster played in what 5 or 6 different roles/positions at motherwell, and does so most games he is involved with, stick with players in their best position and we will be a far better team. Aluko has been magical on the wing, but quite average upfront. Link to comment

No it doesn't. Aluko and Miller should at least show some sort of understanding, and Aluko should at least show some potential as a striker. Calderwood f**ked up big time putting Aluko through the middle when he's 'not in the mood'. Since Aluko has been back on the wing he has shown us that is where he performs best. Fortunately for Aluko and Aberdeen FC, JC has stopped f**king about and has deployed Aluko mostly on the wing. Link to comment
Nespa
must admit that was the first time on Saturday i was really scared that Mulgrew is turing into a liability! no doubting he can play but really suspect at defending and is really slow! Link to comment

madjockmcferson
PISH = not good enough fpr Rankgers or The Tic or any team in the Chumpionship to buy....but good enough to be generally ok in the SPL.....ie Consi and Diamond Link to comment
forbesz1903
Do you really need to show how little you know about football on a regular basis on here? So how come Jamie Smith in the little time he had upfront vs Copenhagen showed he and Miller are decent partnership. Maguire also showed this. When Mackie and Wright played together for the first time they at least showed they had something to build on, the same when Maguire was upfront with Wright. Aluko is not a striker, if he is deployed on the through the middle then it is no coincidence his from dips. The same with Maguire and Mackie when they are deployed on the Wing, they dont perform well. Link to comment

Thats hardly a striking partnership? And how much difference did Miller make for the first? That result was down to the brilliance of Jamie Smith. Two sublime long-rangers, which he's struggle to do again. Link to comment
