got two through this avenue yesterday. I am an SSC member but my cousin is not so we just went for the public tickets. Gaining a point is of no significance to me and we did not want to risk someone else's membership.

The article says the FA are considering an England V Scotland game in 2013.....but here's Brazil talking about playing Scotland in 2011, end of March, don't understand why England and Scotland can't get a game together before 2013?

FA are trying to arrange a tournament between the home nations to mark anniversery of the formation of the FA.

Keep me posted :)

Sorry I totally forgot about this! We changed it and are going on the Saturday morning instead. I think the bus is almost full but I can check if you still need me to.

feel a bit silly about my "moral stance" now since I'm booked up to go

To be fair the tickets were not £60 as rumoured

Anyone got any tips on hotels to stay in for the weekend?

We're in the Royal Scot Travellodge at Kings Cross. No idea if its good.

long boozy journey?

Indeed it will be. 6 and a half hours of drunken carnage. Getting on at Arbroath at 0648 and then a half hour change over in Edinburgh then down to London.

I'm a bit fearful for my mate though. He plans on going to a house party on the Friday night. I've warned him he better not be too pissed as I'm sure my father would not be best please if he puked in his car on our way to Arbroath!

I'm flying down on Friday late afternoon then back on the Monday late afternoon. I looked in to the train and decided it wouldn't be worth it with a hangover on the Monday

So... with only a day and a bit to go, I'm thinking about booze arrangements. Seeing as we're not guaranteed a table seat, I don't know what the viable options are. The typical vodka cokes in a nice coke bottle is the obvious. But a few hours worth of beers... A nice crate stored under one of our seat I think would do... if there's room!

dont know what to think about this, to the untrained eye you would have thought the most important thing for these guys is having a bevvy.............. not enough to be put up in a 5 star resort a game of golf etc ?

Two members of Craig Levein's playing squad have praised the Scotland coach for his decision to allow the players the "opportunity to relax".

Winger Kris Commons and Chris Maguire are with the national team in a training camp in Spain ahead of their friendly against Brazil.

"It's nice to come here, have a game of golf and a few drinks," said Commons.

And Maguire said of Levein: "He has given us the trust, we want to respect that and I think everybody has."

A ban on players consuming alcohol while with the national team was introduced by the previous manager, George Burley, after indiscipline at the team hotel.

This was assumed to still be in place, but news of a supposed easing of the ban was disputed by Levein earlier in the week. "I didn't mention alcohol at all," he said.

Instead, Levein was keen to point out that he was "in a position with this group of players where there is mutual trust", adding that there had been no situations with the squad that had given him cause for concern.

It's up to the boys: if they want to have a drink, they can do that now

Chris Maguire Scotland striker

However, his comments have been interpreted as meaning that he will allow players to have the occasional drink during the trip as they prepare for the contest against Brazil at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Celtic forward Commons told BBC Scotland in La Manga: "It's one of those niggly parts of football.

"I've been with a lot of managers who have been very strict and very professional and want to keep it all out the way.

"I've been with other managers who let you loose a little bit. You need your spare time, you need that trust thing, but it only goes so far.

"Hopefully, if we have can do the business on Sunday then it can continue."

And the former Derby player added: "Craig Levein is probably looking at it from when he was a player. Maybe this is the sort of thing that he liked to do.

"He is definitely stamping his authority on the squad and how he likes things done."

Meanwhile, Aberdeen striker Chris Maguire was pleased to have been afforded a bit of leeway but is confident that his team-mates would not overstep the mark.

"It's up to the boys: if they want to have a drink, they can do that now," he said.

"Up to now, it's been fine, it's been calm, I don't think anyone has abused it."
