Jazzer_Bett
Apart from sounding a bit thick, he was also non commital about coming to us.He is also expressed that wages would be a large part of his decision. Sorry Gavin but at your age this is a bloody good move that doesn't require much thought. So if he's going to fanny about and act billy big time i'd rather take in Ozzy Osbourne, a hungry lad at the right age - with something to prove. Link to comment
robbojunior
i know gav personally, played in same school team as him, but have lost touch so cannie give any inside info. all i can say however, is that the boy is a dons fan and unless we're offering him a pittance, i reckon he will sign for us. just my opinion though. not spoken to him Link to comment
vanderark14
I've heard he's going to Australia Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Rae had pre-contract signed with Australian A-League team....... However he's set to turn that down and will sign contract with Aberdeen. He'll be our first signing. Link to comment
vanderark14
I didn't see your post, I mostly keep out of player threads who are linked unless I have useful info. You heard correct. He had been over and Sydney were wanting him and they'd agreed contract, but he's not going - he will be at Aberdeen due to family reasons. I know this to be 100% true. I'm not disappointed by this. don't know what to think about the possibility of Gavin Rae coming here. We've been f**ked before by "experienced" players coming to us that have turned out to be pretty much useless. Hopefully this isn;t another Hartley or Macnamara Link to comment
King Street Loon
If true, I'll be happy with this signing. Good pro. I imagine his missus is from Aberdeen too??So she'd be happy coming home. Dunno Link to comment
dazzy_deff
Roberto that's a load of sh*te about oz. Source is his dad. No deal agreed with any side over there. His wife is australian so he wants to emigrate there eventually. Link to comment

ollie1903
i always thought gavin rae had the look about him of someone with very, very moderate downs syndrome anyone think thats possible? You're a prick i know gav personally, played in same school team as him, but have lost touch so cannie give any inside info. all i can say however, is that the boy is a dons fan and unless we're offering him a pittance, i reckon he will sign for us. just my opinion though. not spoken to himJamie Fraser was the best Glashie/Oldmachar player of that time  Gavin Rae is a 's emigrate to Australia in their twilight years. Tommy
I played for Glentanar for a few games. You weren't there though. There were a lot of Bod n Oldmachar lads played there and i think Jinxended up there after he left ladser. Link to comment
tup
So did Fergie and Bett. There are people who played for the huns and there are huns who played for the huns. Depends how switched on you are. Fergie played for them, and this fostered a hatred for their values, as they gave him grief for his wife's religion, which he later used to great effect in management. And he turned the bigoted institution down flat when they offered him the job. Bett was so laconic he probably didna need to think. He also played for Rangers when they were totally sh*te, and a move to Aberdeen was, rightly, seen as a step up in class in those days. I don't have an issue with Rae being a hun. Stevie Tosh did well here and he was a hun to the core. As long as they keep their trap shut about it I'm easy. Link to comment

Or do you just have to have a say on the matter Great guy, good player 'til he turned into a bum! Attitude of a hun indeed. Elaborate. Aye I get it, you know him, you've said that several times now. I dinna want to know football players. They're invariably poor company. Roberto also kens him, not that I'm casting aspersions about the dubious company he keeps. Tell him he's a hun from me. I've already said he's a good player. That's all I care about, if he does well for the Dons. Then I'm sure we can all overlook/sweep under the carpet the hun-ness. Link to comment

But you backtracked quickly by saying you had no issue with Rae as you obviously realised how silly the comment was, so i'll sweep it under the carpet also. Have I? Link to comment
tup
Aye, at least twice. Anyway, I don't have an issue with Rangers players moving to Aberdeen, provided they have not stuck the boot into us when there. So I'm sure Rae is fine, he never really got caught up the kind of stuff Foster has been giving out on a weekly basis. Link to comment

Henry
Really? I've been out with a few lads who play football, one no longer than a week ago who plays for Preston. I've not laughed so much in a very long time. Cracking company, and down to earth also. Link to comment

Gavin Rae is very much an Aberdeen fan I dinna normally go to all this bother to prove a point so count yourself privileged. You never outright said it, but the inference is there, loud and clear.
