Tord31
I guess Rae has taken too long to make up his mind, or other midfield targets are close to signing, or a combination of both. Think it's more attentions have moved elsewhere and perhaps the chance has arisen for the marquee signing (if we can only afford one) to be a striker/winger. Link to comment
phoenix
It's a look that's very common in the North-East. Appearances can be deceptive , very often there's an exceedingly fine mind lurking behind external appearances. We Can't Judge A Book By Looking At The Cover( Bo Diddley ). wilm1542
Rumours on footymad forum that Rae may be signing tomorrow along with Clark and Osbourne. No idea what truth is in this. Bit concerned that Rae may be past his best, i hope not Link to comment

Bit concerned that Rae may be past his best, i hope not This is what I worry... he's hardly played for the past few season. If he does sign, he'll also command a fairly hefty wage - not sure he's going to have the legs, or drive to justify it! Link to comment
NorthernLights24
Bump. Away to sign for Dundee apparently. Link to comment

Sandafc
See he spoke to Brown in june but Brown got a deal accepted for a player so we couldnt offer him anything. Good in a way as wouldnt swap either Arnason or Osbourne for him and they were signed about the time. Link to comment
RUL
We always bemoan our luck with signings but I think we got lucky missing out on him, Paul Hartley all over again it would have been. Link to comment

tup
Aye which is that we never had a team to speak of then, so anyone would be an improvement, thankfully we missed out on him though as he appears to be finished just like Hartley was, at least Hartley was thin, although Rae evens the score by having a normal accent as opposed to the laughable utterances Hartley manages to eek out of his weegie coupon. However, both are ugly bastards. I assume we're fine to say that Rae has perfected down's syndrome chic now, aye? Link to comment

spamspamspam
See he spoke to Brown in june but Brown got a deal accepted for a player so we couldnt offer him anything. Good in a way as wouldnt swap either Arnason or Osbourne for him and they were signed about the time. Or Chris feckin Clarke That wasnt what he said anyway. He said that for some reason Brown and AFC got it into their head that he (Rae) didnt want to come and he heard fuck all from us after that. Find that extremely worrying and indicative of how AFC has went about its business over the last few years. This isnt a Brown dig, its an AFC dig by the by. This happened under McGhee and Calderwood as well. It looks like our board decide people dont want to come without bothering to actually ask them or speak to their agents once initial contact is made by whatever manager is in place at the time. It also seems that our board dont bother closing off deals one way or the other and leave it up to the players and their agents to chase the deals. NOT FUCKING GOOD ENOUGH!!! Recruitment 101 is make sure the person you are trying to get on board feels that they are wanted. You chase for answers, you dont just send out a enquiry and then leave it like that. Makes you wonder how many other targets have fallen by the wayside when dealing with us through board ineptness and lack of drive to close these things off. It all sounds extremely familiar, first name that jumps to mind is Lee Hendrie... Whether or not you think he would've done a good job for us I think its pretty obvious our board cant even get the simple things right when it comes to signing people up. Link to comment
