Redmist you get me wrong, I'm not saying he's never been mentioned, all I'm saying is he is not one of the ones we have spoken about in recent times as being a transfer target. Under the radar again, well down to Brown. I'm also confident he will keep doing this until the team is right, contrary to the naysayers on here who appear to believe we will start with a shadow squad made up of Mackie and all the journeymen, plus a few youngsters i.e. what we have right now.

 

This is nowhere near the case. We'll have the guts of a new team by August, which is what I've always maintained. Why this needs to be scandalised, and me met with abuse for it, is anybody's guess? But I'm getting an insight into the mentality of some of the individuals these players have to put up with every week, and it's little wonder the atmosphere has been poisonous at times during recent seasons.

 

Brown will get it right, trust me. I said right from the outset, soon as McGhee took charge, that he was hopeless, that we were in for a rough ride, and I got widely abused for this on Aberdeen Mad. I stuck to my guns. TheRedAvenger bet me a hundred quid that we would finish 4th or above the second season. I telt him he was away with the fairies. football matches are not played on a spreadsheet or won through talking waffle, they are won by having the right manager. 95% of sport is psychology. Only 5% is ability. The mind is right, you win. Wrong, you lose.

 

McGhee had the players hating him. The atmosphere is altogether different at the club now. Wait and see, Brown will get us in the top 5 at least next year, but I'll say we push hard for 3rd.

 

He will have been mentioned on here for sure, but not recently.

 

I disagreed with you over McGhee, in that I hoped he would turn out to be the right appointment - he didn't and you were proved right on that front.

 

I think the reason some (not I) took major issue was they thought you were revelling in it and wanting the club to fail.

Out of that lists I would take a punt on Andrew Shinnie (free transfer). A local boy who has been punted by the huns (always a stumbling block with Aberdeen fans) but always impressed me in their youth team and when he got 1st team games
