They have a right to an opinion of course, but you only highlight the first bit of the sentence.

Do you think there is a value in fans going to games to regularly abuse and deride players?

Do you think it only happens at our club? Players need to blank it out, concentrate on the game and not let it affect them. If they can't take a wee bit of stick from the sideline how are they to take a right arse reaming from a grizzled veteran SPL centre half. They need to grow up quick and man up or they will get nowhere quickly.

Let it be known I do not advocate the berating of players though.

You need a reason to motivate people though.

Banging a big f**king drum and jumping about like mongs never worked, ended up pissing folk off more than they were already.

The club needs to be behind it, strong language from within always rallies a support.

A burst of expletives from the head honchos would go some way to showing they cared.

Hmmmm.

I suspect an element of our support are beyond "motivation". I can't be the only person who had ever wondered if 10-15% of our support would actually prefer to lose a game as it gives them a reason to get wound up and shout abuse at the regular scapegoats - whether they are actually playing or not.

These c**ts are the ones putting off others from attending - whether it be starting fights with the Ultras or comlaining about a few paper planes after a defeat. Let's face it, your slightly-less-than-average Aberdonian is a torn-faced c**t unless he's the one making a joke.

Haha, I've unfortunately sat through someone shouting abuse at Mackie at Hamilton when he was still sitting in Aberdeen.

Doesnt put me of going though, what puts me off now is 25 quid for a ticket to watch a bunch of guys, most of whom dont give a f**k, chase round a park aimlessly when I can see that for free watching the 6 year olds down the local park.

Win games, have a player or 2 that can actually play and 11 that try and I'll sign, shout, cheer, get involved. Have the sort of team we've had for near 15 years, one without a spark of talent about it and no real skill and I'll sit bored as I have or this season I will be found doing other stuff while checking the scores on the radio.

I'm not too bothered about other clubs really. Its what we do at Aberdeen thats important.

Sure I agree players need to cope with it and get on with things. I don't think I said this is a problem because we'll hurt their feelings or we need to mollycoddle them.

And I agree fans have opinions and want to express them, i'm not trying to take that away. So no disagreement with you on that.

My point is that we now see the often needless and almost constant berating of well, basically, most of the players in the squad and this works against what we surely want to achieve. We perpetuate the gap that has grown between the players and the fans. This is easily seen with the abuse certain players get and the reaction we see back from them which is now totally open and clear that they care less and less what fans think of them.

So they more they are abused when they don't merit it the more they feel inclined to go through the motions. How long before this team reaches the same point as the last couple where 4 or 5 players have had enough and just want out? From what I've seen we've made a remarkably good start at achieving that already this season.

We could all show more patience and support for the players. Its not their fault the team is under funded and under strength.

If someone could point me in the direction of this shop that is selling infinite support and patience then I might just buy some. It may not be their fault the team is underfunded but it is their fault they are inept when it comes to passing and moving.

Or, alternatively, talent wise we are much about such or slightly better than most of the SPL, but the players under perform due to the sheer pressure and expectation weighing down on their performances every week?

It canna be easy to play neat football in front of such a hyper-critical fanbase can it?

One mistake and you are crucified. So you take the easy option. Result? Goodbye flair.

So whats their excuse away from home?

Can they not handle the pressure of people watching

They should take up joinery

So its the fans fault the team are perennial underachievers is it? Our fan base is no more critical than any other. I say it says more about the players than it does the fans. The reason flair goes out the window is because they possess none

If you can replace all the players at the club with better ones on the same money then I'll personally write to each of the current players and tell them to take up joinery.

Otherwise I still maintain we can get more out of them by supporting them and saving the abuse until they've been replaced by better or have left the club. Everyone can fill their boots and destroy every last ounce of confidence they have at that point, until then maybe lets see if we can get back to a point where fans support the players. I suggest this because we all realise that its the board and the lack of investment on the squad that is the problem here. Don't we?

OK, lets look at last season for an example or 2

Langfield - Peter Enkelman, Cammy Bell

Vudja - Hamill earned a lot less at well for years. If you compared him to Foster, the player we have no there is no comparison either.

Diamond - pick a player, any player

Ifil - see diamond

McArdle (at RB) pick a RB

Aluko - a moment a season. Both Conway and Swanson are much better and far more consistent. Conway has moved, Swanson is still better

Fyvie/Milsom - wont get much better for the money

Hartley - paid the money of 2, was a gamble that didnt pay off. Gomez, Prince, Miller and Skacel would be in the same wage bracket and all were a lot better last season

Young (not getting better for his pittance) alright for the cash but there are still better midfielders out there, one of the brothers at Hamilton for example.

Mackie/Maguire/Maguennis/Paton - Goodwillie, Rooney, Sammon, Higdon would all be on the same or less and were all much more effective up front last season for their clubs.

That was our first team from last season against players that all played better and are of a higher quality IMO than what we had/have bar Fyvie and Milsom.

So there are plenty out there better for the same or more money. Would you like me to get some good paper for these letters?

Excellent work.

So have you closed out deals to sign ALL these players?

Because this is a fairly spurious list players and while I'd love to spend the time going through this list to explain why it is totally misleading to suggest we can just go out and sign these guys up, without spending massively more than the budget we have, I really don't want to waste the time and effort.

You are raging with how the badly you think the team is shaping up. We get it.

Its not the ONLY way to look at things. I highly recommend a tiny drop more realism and also a bit of optimism for at least a couple of weeks until we see who else comes in.

Yes there are gaps and I might be shitting myself too if all I could see was the most negative possible aspect of each situation. I chose to keep my head a little until I can see where this goes.

Wasnt suggesting we go out and sign all these guy.

You asked if it was possible to replace out rabble of sh*te with a better class of sh*te for the same or less wages. I've listed players in the SPL on less money than ours that we could've taken on when they did or picked up earlier before Hearts and co started sniffing around.

I gave examples for almost every position we have and for the 1st team of last season.

When we signed Young Utd signed Conway and Swanson. These are some of the mistakes we are still paying for now when it comes to our squad.

I'm not raging, I'm extremely disappointed.

We have one of the largest budget in the league outside the OF yet our squad is empty when it comes to that creative spark that is needed to actually win games. Our wages are spent poorly, we can hope Malwene is twice the player Diamond is and we can hope Osbourne stays clear of injury and plays more than Hartley did but those two alone wont make us a winning team no matter how good they are meant to be. They are direct replacements and they dont fix the problems from last season. In fact I'd say Osbourne was a waste of resources, we have Milsom, Fyvie, Jack, Folly, Grimmer and could've kept Young (who was OK and good back up for his wage) so we could've taken in a full back or wide midfielder with his money instead and still got by while having more shape to the team.

We still have no one to stop crosses coming in nor provide them on either side of the pitch. We dont have technically skilled players so our goals will come from crosses into the box and headers meeting them. I cant see Folly doing a mazey through the centre and slapping one in from 20 yards nor can I see Milson managing to whip the ball in from the left. That isnt what they are good at and we all know it.

Yeah, when put like that, it pretty much highlights how little value we are getting for the wages we are paying.

Helluva frustrating really, when you think of the decent cash we've been squandering on incompetent buffoon after incompetent buffoon...

:banghead:

Excellent work.

Correct.
