Stoneybloke
How many would we have scored yesterday with Maguire still in the side. Hate to say this but he will be badly missed. Link to comment
RUL
1 at most? Possibly none? He was average as feck for Aberdeen? Sadly its one area where we haven;t improved but only because we haven't actually signed a striker. Link to comment
wilm1542
Good post. Prime example of his lack of ability yesterday when he got past a couple of defenders because of his pace then spectacularly failed to strike the ball. The fact that he was signed as a keeper and now plays upfront should have been a sign. Good athlete.Bad footballer. He's only 20!! Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Tried to warn you guys but some refused to listen. We are going to have serious problems breaking down teams this season with Vernon and Mackie up front. Neither player has the touch, control, vision and intelligence required to link the play with the midfield and create chances. Vernon is good at poaching goals in the box but doesn't contribute much else to the team and all Mackie does is run around clattering into folk. For Aberdeen to take their time in signing a new striker is bullshit, we needed him for the start of the season because we are going to drop points and lose ground straight away. Magennis came on and almost created a goal for himself with a great run, fair enough he sclaffed his shot in the end but he contributed more with that one run than Mackie and Vernon did combined for the whole game. On a postive note, I like the look of our defence and midfield but Pawlett is far more effective on the right wing and I would play Fyvie more central. I wonder if it would be possible to get Leigh Griffths on loan from Wolves? Wow! you're so insightful. Well done on spotting the obvious Oh btw, when's the world going to end?Just so I can spend all my savings & enjoy myself before it happens. Link to comment

wilm1542
Why's that an excuse for being sh*t? He's only young so i reckon he will make a massive improvement this season. He looked pretty lively on Saturday. A good impact sub this season perhaps Link to comment
King Street Loon
How many would we have scored yesterday with Maguire still in the side. Hate to say this but he will be badly missed. I love how suddenly Maguire becomes a match winner since he's left us. He was pish and I'm not going to miss him.I feel quietly confident we'll have the striker we crave on our books, be it loan or permanent by the end of August. Link to comment
Site Sponsor RTYD Posted July 25, 2011 Site Sponsor Share Posted July 25, 2011 I would like to think that CB is waiting until the EPL clubs finalise their squads of 25 and that he will then be able to get a quality loan player or two. This will probably mean running with what we have until 31 August. Thank you SPL for starting so early. Link to comment

EE saying that Brown is happy to play St Mirren with the squad we have and that we can wait a bit longer to find another striker. Link to comment
WillemVan
none. and no he wont. Ditto. Personally I'm glad he's gone, very overrated, selfish greedy little c**t and won't last one season in the Championship. Link to comment
Coopy100
So because vernon didnt score in the first game of the season you are correct? I find it hard tobelieve. If david villa doesnt score in the first game of barcas season he too will be branded pish despite previous historical context to suggest he is not? Vernon is the best striker we have on the books IMO. I would be more concerned with replacing mackie than vernon as he has historically been gash. Link to comment
