weapon
I haven't been able to attend todders for a few years now cause up till now i have been running about on a pitch trying to play fitba on a Saturday. However i've chucked fitba this summer and therefore can now go more often. I have just registered with afc website to but tickets and have tried to buy tickets for the celtic home game coming up so i can take my wee nephew who is a Celtic fan but it says that i do not have the correct privileges to buy tickets for this game, is this just cause I haven't bought tickets yet through their website???? Or is it a security thing because it's a Celtic game?? Given that I have not bought tickets for donkeys would i still get tickets by phoning up the ticket office?? Any info would be appreciated Link to comment
StandFree1982
Aberdeen need to scrap this idea where you can only get tickets for certain games if you've bought tickets before. How often do we end up selling out and have people struggling for tickets? Except for European games, I can't remember the last time Pittodrie was full and tickets were at a premium. Surely we should be making it EASIER for fans to buy tickets for games, especially when we're not even getting 10k fans in every week. Link to comment

The rule is there to stop things like what happened at Killie in the final game last season. If that happened at Pittodrie, there'd be a mass riot Link to comment
Dynamo
Database has been on the go for about 10 years + I think. Its so Old Firm fans can't (easily) get into the home end. Quite right. Link to comment
tup
The database is a nonsense. It should be scrapped, completely, and anyone should be allowed to buy tickets for any game. If Pittodrie was full every week, re-instate it. It's a nonsense to have to jump through electronic hoops to buy tickets when nobody is turning up. Link to comment

They'd just get horsed out, meaning we take their cash, and eject them, perfect. I don't agree with the database in principle, it's not the Dennis the Menace fan club we're running, it's a fitba team, and you should just be able to roll up and get a ticket if the mood takes you without any questions asked. It puts people off, I grudge, absolutely, providing my details to some nerd in the ticket office so that he can security check me, c**t probably disna even support Aberdeen, who is he to question me? Can you see a six pound an hour Rocksteady chap hauling hordes of Old Firm fans out of their seats in the RDU, tickets they've bought legally and easily at the AFC ticket office? Nah, nor me. Chrisyboy81
If you are on the system as having previously bought tickets you'll be fine. Link to comment

Well there was one fat prick of a Rock Steadier who was all too keen to eject Dons fans from a half-full stadium on Saturday. Taking his obesity out on innocent civilians. There's no way Celtic fans would buy in the bulk you are suggesting, and they would be easily identified and horsed. Link to comment

Henry
I'll try that then cheers The best thing to do would be give the ticket office a phone and explain the situation (possibly leaving out the bit about your nephew being a tim). You're more than likely on the database somewhere. Link to comment
tup
Officious ticketeers of AFC, if you are reading this, I'd just like to point out that if a mannie phones up wondering if he's on the database, and is looking for two tickets for the Celtic game, his nephew is a tim, so point out to him he can only buy one ticket cheers. Coopy100
I can see where tup is coming from but I do think with the bad blood between us and the minky weegie teams (sorry baconman) that it is a good idea to restrict the selling of tickets when we are playing the unwashed hordes (sorry baconman) as it could lead to serious disorder in the stands with aberdeen fans dragging the tims/huns to the toilets and pointing out what the strange liquid in the containers is and then forcibally giving them a right good wash (sorry baconman). Oh that and the inevitable shoeing we would give them as well. (sorry baconman) Link to comment
tup
I think a wee bit of nous shown by those selling the tickets would be enough. Unfortunately, we have £6 an hour dullards employed, and hatchet faced wifies going through the change who will go out of their way to make things as awkward as possible for the paying customer. i.e. if someone phones up and starts giving it the 'patter' or the 'banter' or even the 'Pato Banton-er' whilst speaking throught their nasal passage, or whining as it were, and they round it off with a so-it-iz, or a but, or a by the way, or a n'that, then chances are they support Rangers or Celtic. Simple filtering system. Link to comment

tup
That would prevent millertime getting a ticket though and that would be patently unfair. I'm not so sure. I'd happily sacrifice 1,500 off the gate if it meant no weegies in the home end. Unity would be restored. Link to comment

dj_bollocks
Au contraire - I'd rather the stands were filled for OF games they can have as much of the ground they want if we're taking their money and filling the ground... say 50 quid a tcket... obviously don't have the great unwashed mixed with us though... Dandyesque
Remember the days when you had to go to 2 home matches that season before you were allowed to buy a ticket for an OF game? Link to comment
Tord31
Often see rants from fans (more so on AbMad) who tried to get a ticket on the morning of an Old Firm game and get turned away. 1. Join queue and buy an under 12s ticket for merkland for a random SPL match in future2. Go to back of queue and then buy unlimited tickets for old firm match Simples. Link to comment
