barassie_afc
Oh aye, are you doing that one with an emphasis on global energy and such? No but interestingly that cohort is running at same time, I work in IT , so its more on innovation , with the normal core sh*t flung in Link to comment
tup
It's very hard indeed, and I've done a lot of it, and still do a little. Having children fair puts the kybosh on studying anything, except the state of your bank balance, as they make all kinds of demands on your time, and of course energy, after which you really canna be arsed getting your head around anything complicated. If you've no kids, study as much as you can, as soon as possible. Afterwards, you won't see the point in doing so. Link to comment
dezzy_dan
Studying towards the CTA qualification. Giving up most of your evenings and weekends is horrid. Link to comment
Foster14
Aye it balls, currently studying for CA qualifications Been there, done that. My work is more accommodating than most in terms of not expecting any work to be done during block releases and ample study leave given prior to exams, but still a bit of a nightmare when you have to do all the exercises and reading in your own time on top of work. Cowie
Wrote up my PHD while I was working in a research lab a few years back.... wouldn't recommend it! Also had to contend with moving to a new city & not knowing anyone at the same time. Had to balance work, meeting new people & thesis work at the same time. Not Ideal. All I can really say is don't fanny about & get it done. Link to comment
terenceandphilip
I don't think anything would persuade me to study anything again in my life, I've done too much of it already. The working week takes up more than enough of your life as it is without adding in evenings and weekends. It's tricky getting HR work addicts to realise this and that we're not all work automans. I love learning what I want to learn when I want to learn it, but I've got more qualifications than I know what to do with already and some of the most successful people I know have none, whereas I'll never amount to a hill of beans. Just say no, it's a lot of bollocks. Link to comment

Anyone else had any experience of this ? While not on the same scale of studying for a masters my work is expecting me to become fully certified in a version of the application we support as well as completing a couple of other training courses. I simply don't have the time right now and it seriously annoys me that they expect me to juggle that along with my day to day job. Link to comment
dazzy_deff
I have no interest in studying again either. Studied in some way (school, uni, college, on site SVQ's) from 5-23, had 2 n a bit years of no studying and love it. No interest in going back to it. Link to comment
Jonty
Aye it balls, currently studying for CA qualifications Snap - I did that a few years back, fookin sh*t. Did it intensive route meant 10 weeks off work which sounded decent to start with but was f**kin pisch. Should be worth it in the end though barassie, bit of pain now, lots of bucks to make up for it later. Link to comment
zig-a-zig-ah
Been to uni on 3 separate occasions, and started a distance learning degree also. Got f**k all to show for it apart from a shitload of debt. Studying just ain't for me. Link to comment
Nelly
Studied for a masters part time too. Work paid for it, had to make up the lecture time with overtime then spent loads of weekends studying and completing courseworks. Project took ages to complete but got there in the end. Resulted in a better job, with much better future opportunities so well worth it. Link to comment

Not Ideal. All I can really say is don't fanny about & get it done. I couldn't have done that.... writing up my PhD just about killed me. No way I could have contended with moving somewhere else and starting a new job. I finished my revisions and made my final submission about 48 hours prior to my flight leaving to Australia! That was stressful enough! Link to comment
