afc_blockhead
why do you assume, that just because he is Craig Brown, he knows any more about football than say, for instance, Tommy? I would say in most cases yes . Nice selective argument by picking someone on here who actually probably DOES know about football My point is , no matter were Brown spent his budget this summer there would be holes in the squad . It is so easy to criticise . Link to comment

tup
Irrespective of what he thinks or thought - he sent an anonymousletter to sfa ( well he thought it was anonymous) bad mouthing Millarand blaming him for how woeful the national team was.It was a self preservation exercise. It was a series of letters, not just one. It worked a treat, Miller was a dick, getting wired in to him anonymously to his employer strikes me as a fantastic idea, well in Brown. Link to comment

Stoneybloke
You are criticising Brown for an alleged Rangers connection . Jimmy was Rangers through and through . He didnt hide that fact . Slightly hypocritical ! Didn't McGhee have leanings towards Celtic as well? It's perhaps inescapable for someone from the central belt not to have some allegiances towards one of the OF . He made that abundantly clear when he returned to manage Aberdeen. Incidentally, I'm a central belter, born and bred and I have no allegiances toward either side of the OF. I'm by no means alone. Stoney
I would be interested to see if a manager in his 40s 50s would receive the same amount of "respect" from our fan base if he was doing the same job as brown. Just because he has experience doesnt make him any less of a fuck up. Never have we had such a poorly balanced squad - ever. Link to comment

You do realise this would mean we had our worst team ever , resulting in our worst season ever . Do you believe this will happen ? Or are you over-reacting for the attention you crave from people like me !!! Link to comment

afc_blockhead
incorrect by jove, you dont half jump to some wacky conclusions An unbalanced squad hints at having a poor season . Ultimately you are likely to have to use a whole squad over a season . If we were to do that , if it is so unbalanced then we would be likely to struggle . Is that not true ? Link to comment

Stoney
I have said on numerous occasions if we dont add width then we arnt going to be anywhere near the top half. I havnt seen anything from this team to suggest that we are going to finish higher than 10th. We will be in a better position to tell after the next two games, 6 points is a must, 4 Acceptable, anything less and i fear the worst. Link to comment

tup
anything less and i fear the worst. You fear the worst already so it disna matter a fuck what happens in the next two games vis-a-vis your dramatisation of the future prospects of Aberdeen FC. You've been banging on for weeks that we're pish, doomed etc. I can see we are making progress with my own eyes, and the next two games will not be pivotal, we could win lose or draw them and it means very little until we have reached 22 games. minijc
Nah it won't be him, has to be someone with Blackburn Rovers, Jerome Anderson, Steve Kean, Billy Davies, Fulham or Preston North End connections. That is our 'network'. Edit: Oh f**k, I honestly just noticed that he fullfillsat least two, maybe three of that criteria. Absolutely no chance though, although still probably more likely than McFadden. He now fits in to another as he's training with preston now, CB will be itching to get him in. Link to comment

I have to disagree with this assessment given our track record of bad runs. We had a poor pre-season and yet again another poor start to a season. Fans are already getting itchy feet and that will effect players on match day. Plus, if they read the comments on forums they'll be even more disillusioned. Let's not forget we have a thin squad, no LB, a crap RB, no left mid/wing and not one player at the moment who looks capable of getting more than 10 goals this season. We've no natural width and have a team of defensive minded midfielders thus creativity is a problem. We had a perfect chance to start the season well, we messed up big time. Players did not look 100% fit either at times. We're also still picking up our usual batch of injuries and if we lose Ozzy & Arni to long term injury we're in serious trouble. Bad runs, injuries, rubbish players like Mackie & Foster (Captain), lack of goals and defeats only end up with a demoralised team sitting near the bottom of a league. Simple truth is we need to beat Hibs, anything less is not acceptable and I don't care how early in the season we are. We've got to start winning and winning well because if by XMAS we're in the bottom 3, then we're in for a very bleak new year. Link to comment
