Stoney
I was looking online, you can apply for permission for land you dont own but you have to have permission from the land owner. Also mentions that the planning for our stadium just from the council side has cost Link to comment

Stoney
I cant believe even with our board that any loose ends wernt tied up before getting to this stage. Link to comment
fatshaft
Agreed but there's low and there's insulting...looks like Milne's steamed in with the latter...once folk get insulted they can be cu*ts to deal withYes, that's what it looks like Considering we've gone all the way through years of too-ing and froing about the stadium to get to bid deadline day before we've heard anything at all about the land not being secured, then I'd say we're not just talking pinch of salt here, but the entire contents of Garlogie sand hole for MWO's posts. ollie1903
lol hardly! MWO will be correct.Aye, +1 As I said, I don't know much about it so nae need for the smug reply. Link to comment
Guest
I always thought this was council land, hence the reason we were trying to get them to fund most of it. I think what happened was essentially, they turned round and said, look AFC, we've no money to turn this into a community stadium, but have the land at a nominal price and you can have as many Elton John concerts there as you like. MWO... you sure you're source is not getting confused with the farm at Bellfield where the bloke was pretty adamant he wouldn't sell his part of the land to Milne? I very much doubt we don't have signed agreements to buy this land. And the point about gaining planning permission for land you don't own? That must be a load of crap? That's akin to saying, I'll pump in a planning application to build a 30ft swimming pool in my next door neighbours garden. You may have a conditional approval on the basis that the land owner agrees to this, but I thought we now had full planning permission. Reeks of pish anyway, this story of someone showing interest but away to put a bid together. In summary, we've had no bids. No bids means you don't close the window for people to make one. Jack_Glass
be nice of donald trump chipped in to build top class hotels for his golfers...can always dream no doubt there will be plenty of interest on the land, be interesting to see who buys it Link to comment

Stoney
There was in issue raised about the possibility of folk having to walk over private land to get from kincorth to the ground, wouldnt be an afc problem though Link to comment
MidWeekOnly
The land isn't the fall back site although Stoney may be right with the access land from Kincorth. The land is owned by a very wealthy businessman not local to the area. My source is very well placed to know this info. Building can not start until the outstanding land is bought. On planning there may be different application laws between public and business as I'm pretty sure Tesco had permission for the land at the old RGU halls of residence on queens road before the land even went to auction. A business cant go investing millions in the hope of planning permission, most likely why AFC sought planning permission before sale to reduce risks to potential purchasers and therefore increasing potential revenues. You have got the issue slightly muddled up though mate. AFC's need to sell Pittodrie and AFC's planning application for new build are two separate items. No one is going to buy a plot of land at the price of circa Link to comment
King Street Loon
Heard from the bro in law who works for the water board that AFC have submitted the plans and requirments for that side of things. Sewage, water supply etc. Has work not started already on roadworks for site access? Link to comment

Lang Bar
I'd say it is probably true regarding the land at Loirston. I know someone who stayed in a house there for a while. That house was part of a larger estate predominantly a few miles further west. Now if I knew who owned that estate, then I'd imagine I'd have the name of the person to whom MidweekOnly is referring. seanthesheep
because of what? Well it's been reported on ad-mad that the reason it was put back is there IS interest in buying Pittodrie but a couple of companies requested more time to prepare their bid. I think it was mentioned there are 8 "notes of interest". One poster who is supposedly in on the housing market game seems to think that AFC could stand to make in the region of 30-35 million for the sale. I doubt us mere mortals will get to know the truth though but I'm hoping this rumour is the true reason of the date being put back to January. Link to comment

Could be wrong, but I'm sure I read in the papers a while back that the land at Loirston was owned by the Muir Group, but obviously I da ken if/how this affects the stadium. Link to comment

That would be a business rival of Milne, the owner and Milne don't get on. Never knew that info was out there but this is the piece of land I have been on about. Would have said if is realised it had been published already. Link to comment

From an official 'Cooncil' document on the AFC proposal committees.aberdeencity.gov.uk/mgConvert2PDF.aspx?ID=11122 "There is a strong feeling that the Council has already given the nod to thisscheme. The Council as owner of the land and also the planning authorityshould not have been promoting this scheme." Not sure where this story about Muir Group is being conjured up. Again, to recap, I have always believed the land to be owned by the Council, hence the reason we ultimately chose it (as we believed we were getting into bed with the Council over a community stadium and the land would therefore be free). Stoney
Yup there are more supporting documents to back that up online. Like i said a few posts ago, the only problem that could have been raised due to land was people tresspassing to get to the stadium . Not an AFC issue. There is no reason for this date to be pushed back other than avoiding the AGM tonight................. Link to comment
