Dynamo
Steve Lomas?? That is one of the most random choices for manager i've ever seen St J have a history of appointing young managers. Good for them, that's what I say. Certainly beats having the same old same old like Calderwood and Hughes who get a mention in the weegia every time a job comes up. First game against us on Monday night. Shit timing. Link to comment
tommo1903
In the German national side Beckenbauer, Voller and Klinsmann all went into national team management and were successful. All three were untried as managers when they were appointed. From Holland Rijkaard and Van Basten did alright as managers.Laurent Blanc did well at Bordeaux before becoming national coach. And the Italians have had Trapattoni, Zoff and Maldini (Snr). It's more a European thing to appoint former players as coaches but there are numerous examples of it working for national sides. Could add Pep Guardiola to that list as well. 6 La Ligas, 2 Coppa Del Reys, 1 European Cup, 1 Cup Winners Cup and 45 caps for Spain as a player. And as a manager, 2 Champs Leagues & 3 La Ligas in 3 seasons as a manager. Link to comment
