Steve Lomas?? That is one of the most random choices for manager i've ever seen :o

St J have a history of appointing young managers. Good for them, that's what I say. Certainly beats having the same old same old like Calderwood and Hughes who get a mention in the weegia every time a job comes up.

First game against us on Monday night. Shit timing.

In the German national side Beckenbauer, Voller and Klinsmann all went into national team management and were successful. All three were untried as managers when they were appointed.

From Holland Rijkaard and Van Basten did alright as managers.

Laurent Blanc did well at Bordeaux before becoming national coach.

And the Italians have had Trapattoni, Zoff and Maldini (Snr).

It's more a European thing to appoint former players as coaches but there are numerous examples of it working for national sides.

Could add Pep Guardiola to that list as well.

6 La Ligas, 2 Coppa Del Reys, 1 European Cup, 1 Cup Winners Cup and 45 caps for Spain as a player.

And as a manager, 2 Champs Leagues & 3 La Ligas in 3 seasons as a manager.

Mr RAZOR...maybe cause even the Irish can realise what you and others fail to see....Craigan is a smart c*nt...he's the reason Well, are the team they are.

Less than average player?....Name one top player that has gone on to manage at a high level...yup none...Craigan will do a job somewhere...100% certain.

In the best scouser acent I can muster calm down calm down....Who said Craigan was a shite player anyway (Oh yes RAZOR)...he's the captain of Northern Ireland and Well.

We can all name great players that have gone on to manage at a high level...same as we can all name great players that have been absolute mince...Willie Miller,Bryan Robson etc.

:nutso:

That's up there with some of the most bizarre comments from this site I think i've ever read.
