RUL
You need a landline for online gaming and sky tv so not the end of landlines by any means! Also a lot of folk who use landlines are not going to be interested in paying that much for a phone Link to comment

If you use your mobile for all your internet access by using it as described in the article then surely online gaming is covered as well? That's a guess as I've never played a game online in my life. The Boofon
yes you do For Box office you do. For normal Sky a satellite dish and receiver with a telephone line disconnected will suffice. EDIT: I'll clarify. A line is needed for initial set up. Seems strange that though. Once it's installed then no phone line is required. Link to comment

It's in the t and c that if you have sky plus and disconnect the line sky will charge you 2 full subscriptions. I have no idea how it why this is in the conditions Link to comment

I've not had a phone line connected to my Sky for nigh on 5 years. I await the CEO of BT to come back with his retort. Link to comment
wullfo
I believe a landline is required by Sky, but not essential, to make sure you dont remove the box from your house and use it at your caravan in Cullen, cough cough. Link to comment

The Boofon
is the correct answer Damn it you're supposed to argue for fuck sake. What a strange set up though in this day and age that you need to have a phone line to get SATELLITE television. Baffling stuff. Link to comment
