Jocky Balboa
Please feel free to add your comments and, if possible, share this with other forums, including those of other SPL and SFL clubs. With the recent catastrophe at Castle Greyskull, the more far-sighted among us have seen a window of opportunity that stretches considerably further than merely laughing at one other Club's expense. Whatever our individual thoughts on this, or our proposed solution(s), I think we must collectively agree that this is the best opportunity in decades to really shake things up with all things connected to Scottish Football. It is the closest to "ripping up the rule book" we will ever get. Yet, as is the case in all walks of life, with rights come responsibilities. We, the 10 non-OF clubs, have been given a golden opportunity, one that we may never have again, to really (and I mean REALLY) right the wrongs of the past few generations and make our game a fairer, more exciting and ultimately more prosperous proposition for all but the most blinkered and bigoted OF stooge. The question is, however, are the powers that be within the other 10 SPL (and the SFL, for that matter) clubs up to the task? Will they stand up and be a lion in the path of the Orcs and the ugly Behemoths (which one is which, I do not know, for they are, in many of our eyes, two cheeks of the same rectal passage) or will they cower at their perceived might and ultimately bottle it, returning to their master that is the status quo? I believe that this is where fan power comes in. We, the fans, must make our sentiments known at every level, whether that be the possibly futile, but nevertheless news-worthy, process of lobbying the SPL, voicing our disapproval to the OF-obsessed mainstream media, carrying banners at matches which state our feelings LOUD and CLEAR, or channeling our discussions through social media. We must not pass up this opportunity to change the course of Scottish Footballing history forever, or we will look back one day, knowing what could have been and, worse of all, our future generations will lament our ineffectiveness, if they will even care enough to support a duopoly-marred "game", or if indeed there even is a Scottish league to support. It's in our hands. We all know, deep down, that as long as there is a league with "The Big Two" they will have an advantage of sorts and that there will not be a "level" playing field. But there has to be "a" playing field. Let's make it happen. Link to comment

If the nettle isn't grasped and some significant changes are not realised after this debacle then i'm out (thought about this a lot the past couple of weeks and followed story closely). The game in Scotland is already a joke...if i want to follow a farce i'll stick to stuff like m. python etc. Yes, I guess it's easier for me to enact because i live overseas but i still love AFC...they have to do something to help the game in Scotland. Bobbyskitter
Something has to be coordinated between the support of all the non old firm teams so Regan and Doncaster are made aware that we wont accept a newco Rangers being allowed to start life in the SPL. When the tell us we need Rangers to attract a TV deal we have to provide them with options for a league set up that would provide excitement and encourage and even reward teams that play attacking football. I think that a change to summer football would be the best way to keep the TV companies interested in Scottish football but i also think we need to look at some radical changes to the league set up to avoid one or two teams from constantly benefiting from champions league money to the detriment of all the other teams in the league, a more competitive league is a more exciting one.
