Old Wing Stand
Would go for job 2 myself seems less pressure but good luck anyway Link to comment
muttondressedaslamb
Job 2 for me, even before you said it paid more. More relaxed and it seems to have better structures in place. Link to comment
The Boofon
Job 2 for me, even before you said it paid more. More relaxed and it seems to have better structures in place. Job 2 without a doubt. Job 1 sounds shit. A games room isn't much use if you're doing 14 hour working days. Link to comment
J4MRU
Job two sounds better. That's how I decided on my job. More time off for same money. Although for you it's working a bit less for more money job 2 also has the added advantage of good chance of progression. No brainier for me. Even if you have to travel away it's not even once a week. But you will get to meet new people and with that comes 'getting a finger in another pie'. Link to comment
BrianFaePerth
For me it would depend on your age and circumstances. Young, free and single, then job 1 would be ok, but otherwise job 2 seems much the better option. Link to comment

a don in oz
Job 2. Less hours, more of a life, less expectation that they own you (it would seem from the 12-14 hour comments) That combined with the insane amount of reports and the horrible approval chain (I have worked with both and they drove me insane) you'd have in Job 1 really - for me - would make me run a mile from it. Also, a boring job (the downside of 2) is only boring if you let it be. That's where you start thinking, how can this be done better, how can we get things exciting. A job is only boring if you let it be whereas a job can be too much whether you like it or not. The thing is though you have to decide what's important for you in your life/career and aim for that. I've dumped a position for a lower paid one before that gave me back my life. I'm sure plenty of people would never do that. Figure out what matters to you. Link to comment
styrofoamplates
Thank you to Old Wing Stand, MDAL, boofon, J4MRU, ByenEBergen and Don in Oz. I think you've just confirmed what I already knew and should go for job two. Thanks for the input, I think I just needed to get some outside perspective from people who I haven't already discussed it with. I'll let you know how I get on. Also, thanks for your input Buck! If things go tits up for me out here and I need to come back to the UK and get a Christmas job in HMV, I'll give you a shout! Link to comment

The Boofon
Good luck loon. Are the jobs in Dubai? Just noticed your location.... Lucky fecker! They both sound hellish. I agree with this guy. Never noticed you were in that shithole of a place either. I retract my earlier advice. Turn down both jobs and leave Dubai immediately before your head disappears up your own arse like every other expat out there. Link to comment
