fine-n-dandy
Without question they should be given the last five to see if they've got it for next season. U19s season/league is finished, so they must be used now.Just send Uchechi & Chalali away now.Drop Fyvie seen as he's not renewing his contract & has said so, so he shouldn't play again for us, there's no point playing him as he'll not be giving his all, as he'll be scared of injury, so get Masson in in his place We need to start now for next season. There's maybe some other U19s that I'm forgetting but the three mention should certainly be in NOW & not just bit parts here & there. Just hope a couple of clubs start a little bidding war over Fyvie so we get the maximum we can for him. realistically we should hope to get half a mil but never know, IF there is a couple of teams REALLY interested in him, we may get more + a sell on clause. muttondressedaslamb
Nothing to lose, everything to gain. Which makes me think Brown won't do it. Fingers crossed though. It might make some fans go along to some of the games too. Link to comment
boboisared
Really interested to see what Masson and McManus can bring to the table. We've all heard about Smith and his potential but it's only the last couple of months these 2 have properly been touted as future stars. Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
Right now, they (& the hope that Anderson can stay fit) are pretty much the only thing that can gives us hope for next season. Already said I'd be renewing for next season as it's the last for Pittodrie but these young guys will help make this a justified decision cause there's little other reason right now. Yesterday may have cost us another few season tickets but hopefully time & the blooding of the youngsters NOW can reverse some decisions. I'm hardly one to preach seen as I didn't renew this season but I had my reasons & hopefully others can see some positives & hope for next season but we need the board to show some ambition now more than ever cause they need to realise that JUST having a shiny new stadium to look forward to will soon wear off. ScottishJohn
Drop Fyvie for Fraser on the right. Hughes for Masson in the middle. Let Cammy Smith play upfront with Vernon/Fallon. Link to comment

I wouldnt throw in all young lads at once but should start 2 at least a game and no point playing anyone who wont be there next season. We really need to try out some young strikers hope we can unearth a gem cos we cant afford to buy a proven goalscorer. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Agree with the sentements of the OP. In fact perhaps we should have been using these guys (1 or 2 at a time) during the long period of drawn games. A bit of youthful fearlessnes and enthusiam was needed. Link to comment

Supersub
totally agree, at the moment after yesterday I'll be hard pushed to make another journey up to Aberdeen this season. If there was a little hope... man I feel sick after that gutless performance I really do, I feel we are going backwards at the moment. Link to comment

There is no new press because it's not happening. I don't even know if Pittodrie was successfully sold yet. Doubtful. No work has started on the "new stadium" apart from some signs being erected. Last news "A substantial element will come from the proposed sale of the existing Pittodrie site and we hope to have planning approval for this within the next couple of months." "The huge funding challenge will result in a big call on our major shareholders and others. We also hope to secure a significant contribution from the naming rights, enabling funding and a manageable mortgage. The challenge is massive and we will explore all options to ensure this major project, which will benefit the whole of the region, is successfully delivered". In other words we've no fucking chance of building it and so we'll make on we're trying really hard meantime. Link to comment
Macca
Youngsters must be played for the remainder of the season. Arnason/Mackie/Reynolds and any other player who won't be here next season shouldn't play. Reynolds hasn't done anything wrong, but makes sense to play Anderson and Considine (or young player) if they are going to be the centre half pairing next year. Its the only chance of people turning up to watch the kids, as opposed to Clark and Mackie. Link to comment
DieHardDandy
Don't forget about Megginson. I was really disappointed to see him left out - he's the only pacey player we've got these days! Link to comment

sooth_stander
Totally agree. Get Anderson and Considine playing together too, as well as Hughes and Rae. Or try and integrate Ryan Jack into central midfield. No real sense in playing Fyvie, Arnie, Reynolds or any of the other players either out of contract or who won't be getting their contracts renewed Link to comment
DieHardDandy
But he can't shoot for shit! He's what, 19? You've got to give these kids time. The ridiculous extreme is giving them the time that Mackie's had (that boy MUST be punted in the summer!) so you've got to say enough is enough eventually, like we have with Paton. Most of the young lads are not going to burst onto the scene like McNaughton or (to a lesser extent) Fyvie. Jack's had a long run in the team and (apart from yesterday) has been shaping up well. Young Robertson looks to be developing in the same way. Give Megginson games and we'll have a better chance of him developing into a better player - he's a good young talent. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
I'd say that McManus should certainly be played cos it sounds like he's been scoring for fun & is in with a chance of being the leagues top scorer.Let's see if he can work with Vernon? nothing major to lose really. Karl Fletcher
I would certainly be more inclined to attend the two remaining home games if if he was going to give youth a chance. Am I fuck turning up to watch players like Clark etc who will now officially be on their summer holidays Link to comment
vanderark14
anyone who will not be here next season must be dropped from the side for those who will play a part. Youngsters need to be blooded in the next 5 games too. Link to comment
Crossbow
Agree with the sentiments = those who are leaving are of no value to the club in developing - our season is now effectively meaningless - no doubt if go on a draw spree however it'll be touted as showing progress. We should take a wee gamble - play one or two at a time and play for a win. WIth CB at the helm I think the chances are slim. Link to comment
Tord31
Will lose even more respect for the club if players like Arnason and Mackie are not completely bombed out of the team. May aswell just say to Arnason for instance here is a final offer you've until Friday 5pm to sign it if you dont want to sign it please leave the club at five past five. Link to comment

Agreed, he should never have played another second for the club after his January statement. It was fairly obvious he would play within himself, as that wanker Mulgrew did in his final spell here. Sonoftherock
Only players who have committed themselves to the club for next season should be considered for selection. We have a series of completely meaningless games coming up. We need to start planning for next season now. There is no point playing the likes of Mackie and Arnason. Link to comment

There was never a point in playing Mackie. He needs to be removed with immediate effect. He's a bad influence and as far as I'm concerned a jinx. Our lack of trophies pretty much coincides with him playing for AFC. He's the curse. Link to comment

He's been like the standard bearer for our mediocrity and decline over the past 10 years. It will be a great day for Aberdeen supporters when he clocks off for the last time. Link to comment
