muttonhumper
Excellent news re: safely onboard. Some major major questions to be asked now i would imagine.Indeed. Fit's that?4 or 5 ditchings in the last 5 years? None in the previous 10?Something like that possibly? Link to comment
GK55
Unsure of figures, but seems the frequency is certainly rising. Very glad i dont work offshore. Link to comment

Hated flying in them. Always tried to pick a seat with a big window and not next to some fat bastard. Fair difference between a crash and a ditch though and it sounds like this has been a controlled ditching which although not ideal is quite a safe thing to do in the grand scheme of things. Rather that than fly on and things get worse. Link to comment

Terrorfex
AAIB confirms that during the ditching in May, the helicopter's EmLube system was functioning as designed and that, for whatever reason, a false master caution signal indicating the EmLube system had failed activated on the flight deck. In other words, through no fault of their own (acting as they believed the situation warranted) the pilot ditched a fully flyable, functioning aircraft. No technical details on this latest ditching as-yet. Link to comment

He must keep his hard drives full of porn on the rig and not take them back and fore in his (now soaked and ruined) kit bag. Link to comment
