New Signing: Niall Mcginn

Recommended Posts

Excellent signing. Delighted with it. The patience has paid off. Said last season, Browns job last season was to shore up the defence and make us solid which I think he did (albeit we were very boring) next phase was to improve the attacking side of things which in Hayes and McGinn he certainly has done. Hats off the the board and to Pa Broon. Some very good business done, in the right manner.

I think that was most sensible fans view on the situation last season. This season is make or break for broon.

Yes most sensible fans. Large chunk of goons on here though didnt see it that way. Manager needs 3 seasons to rebuild a team in my opinion and we certainly needed rebuilt.

Bullshit!!!!! THAT was his job when he took over first of all. He was to "shore up the defence" & keep us up (which he did) & then follow on from that by improving on it the following season, which he failed to do, so please do not try & write off a whole season of failure or erase it just because we've now made a couple of signings that should have been made a long time ago. Wide signings, signings the fans were rightly screaming out for for YEARS ago.

This is two good signings we've made but that doesn't erase the memory of late, far from it. It will take more than that to atone for what we've been forced to watch.

Bullshit. Job for the half season he was in was purely to keep us up...job done. Then from then on in he had a full rebuilding job. 1st season concentrate on making us solid, harder to beat. 2nd season concentrate on the attacking side. Dont get me wrong, I would have preferred we werent quite so negative last season as the football on display was tragic...but in the grand scheme of things I am happy with the timescale of everything.

All good getting Hayes and McGinn, but worthless unless we sign a proven goalscorer.

Vernon - good

Fallon - sh!te

Paton - sh!te

Magennis - sh!te

Megginson - sh!te

See where i'm coming from?

THIS MUST NOW BE PRIORITY.

Vernon is a quality goalscorer. Good scoring record from zero creativity, i think he will easily hit 20 with creative players in the team (i.e.hayes. mcginn, a fully fit Pawlett if it ever happens)

Well I'm not. A decent manager could have achieved what Brown has done in one & a half seasons in the period from Jan to season end but Brown has taken a lot longer than a manager of his 'calibre' should have taken.

FFS! only just scraping a 9th placed finish is not & never will be "job done" or anywhere near acceptable for Aberdeen & as I said two wingers (no matter how much wingers go against Brown's whole managerial career) do not suddenly change my opinion on him. No my memory is pretty damn shite but I've not been in a bloody coma for two years.

The guy is pulling your pisser or knows fuck all about football.

Niall McGinn will be a good signing for you lot, very surprised he joined because of the favourable reports he got down south. He was behind Forrest, Commons and McCourt for a winger slot, that's how he very rarely started. Quick as hell and very direct, it'll be interesting to see how well he does if he gets a regular starting slot in the SPL.

Fair enough dude, I didn't claim it at all, I took his word for it and considering he is a paranoid Celtic fan I took it with as much credibility as I could!

Why did Celtic not vote against Rangers today???? Scared of financial loses are we??

Really good signing, added to Hayes that's two signings I'm delighted with so far. The team was solid at the back last year although I think a lot of that might have been Reynolds, so the attacking signings are great. Hopefully Anderson is near his old self and then Reynolds won't be missed. Another few players and we should really be pushing for 2nd, no excuses.

Squad shaping up like this...

GK - Brown, Langfield

RB - Jack, Osbourne

CB - Anderson, Considine, Shaunessey

LB - Robertson, Considine

RM - McGinn, Pawlett, Jack, Fyvie

CM - Rae, Hughes, Milsom, Osbourne, Jack, Fyvie

LM - Hayes, Low

ST - Vernon, Fallon, Magennis, Megginson, Paton

youngsters looking for spots - McManus, Smith, Fraser and Masson

Have to look at that and think we could do with a defender next, and looking to get shot of Fyvie and Paton?

You forgot Chris Clark as well. Hope Brown does the same!

Oh here comes Doom and Fucking Gloom to try and pish on everyone's chips.

We might sign a left-back!

You never fucking know!

How on earth was that doom and gloom FFS? :nutter:

Explain your nonsense please?

Ryan Jack will NEVER play left back.

That much I'll bet you on.

Let's not spoil a good day so far.

A comment from someone on AFC's Official Facebook page:

Shite signing. Broon has been promising us a proven goalscorer, yet signs a boy who scored 5 goals in 38 games for brentford last season. Fir me, the better option would've been el algui. Broon is fuckin useless

Redstar, is that you?;)

You said we would sign a centre half and punt Considine out to left back.

Which we all know disna work, at all.

Which I'm sure Brown appreciates.

So it's doom and gloom because you're expecting us to revert to the same mistakes as before, even though we've still got ages to sign a left back.

i.e. lighten up you miserable cunt.

Brown has suggested that McGinn will be used as a striker, probably to play off a target man ie Vernon.

Megginson is still young and we have Cammy Smith and U20 top scorer McManus who have an opportunity to step up next season.

Magennis should be used primarily as a fullback and Paton is Paton.
