SupportmeansSUPPORT
"SHEFFIELD Wednesday are looking to ship out defensive duo Julian Bennett and Mark Reynolds. Owls manager Dave Jones has told The Shefiield Star that neither of the duo have travelled to Portugal and conceded they do not figure in his long-term plans. Jones, who is aiming to catpure another five players before the start of the Championship campaign next month, wants to trim the wage bill as he aims to reshape his squad. Left-backs Bennett and Reynolds have yet to officially be put on the transfer list, but Jones has indicated the pair are free to look for new clubs. The Wednesday chief said: Link to comment
Jazzer_Bett
Good stuff, massive fan of Reynolds Link to comment
Red Dragon
Would be very happy bringing in both Reynolds and Naysmith. Best summer ever? Link to comment
LeDandy
Reynolds would be a great addition to our squad Link to comment
Foster14
I was under the impression Bristol Rovers had come in for Reynolds? I'd maybe see Bristol City going for him, but don't think he'd go to Rovers. If we could get Reynolds and Naysmith, I'd be delighted with our squad depth for the new year. (if it was possible to get a loan forward as well, I'd b ecstatic). Link to comment
Karl Fletcher
I would settle getting Reynolds on loan again. Getting him in permanently on a free would be fantastic Link to comment
Tord31
Still hoping for a left back, centre back and striker yet. Reynolds and Naysmith would more than fit the bill. Would be good if we could sign Reynolds permanently. Link to comment
Dynamo
You could maybe go as far as to say that if we signed Reynolds and Naysmith we'd have a decent well balanced side Link to comment
boboisared
I would shoot my load, inside my underwear at work if this was to happen. 1 Link to comment
Stoney
Wages are going to be a big factor on this, Unless the board raise the budget i cant see us being able to get him! Link to comment
Foster14
Wages are going to be a big factor on this, Unless the board raise the budget i cant see us being able to get him! I think it will be a loan with contribution to wages. He was probably contractually obliged for a wage rise on Sheffield Wednesday being promoted, so would think that most clubs interested in him would be able to take him on at his current wages. SkyeDon
I'd be absolutely delighted if we were able to get both. Reynolds would give us pace at the back which, at the moment, is seriously lacking. Link to comment
GK55
Go for both....if it happened we would be in good shape IMO going into the new season. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Would be absolutely delighted with this 2! Link to comment
Crossbow
Would be absolutely delighted with this 2! So would I - I'd also be pleasantly surprised as I suspect his wages are too much of an issue - we could spend the Fyvie money more poorly though. Link to comment
paddy
I think this would be the best transfer window in a long time if we got Reynolds and Naysmith. fucking hell, a balanced squad?! Crazy stuff. Link to comment
vanderark14
go for both dons. You would make the fans very happy indeed. Link to comment
barassie_afc
maybe, just maybe they have thought fuck it, lets put a few bob into the mix and see if we push celtic......... Link to comment
V for Vendetta
If they really want to push up the table then these 2 would be great additions (Reynolds is three times the player Kenneth is) I'd maybe be cheeky though and suggest getting the young RB lad we were linked with in too and maybe a cheeky wee striker addition. In fact if we got the 4 above then the only thing that could top it would be selling Clark and Fallon. (or getting Faddy in) Link to comment
StandFree1982
Apparently Mark McGhee wants him Link to comment
Tord31
League 2? Probably rather stay at Sheff Weds and sit in the stand. Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
Can see Motherwell making a move for Reynolds as well seen as they are really struggling for defenders the now ahead of their champions league games. We may have a fight on our hands for him, so best make a decent offer to him asap. Karl Fletcher
Motherwell are absolutely skint however and are having to resort to emergency signings to ease their defensive crisis. I have no particular beef with 'Well fans (even thoug they seem to hate us) however I hope they enjoy their wee jaunt into Europe as I fear they have a few tough years ahead of them. We're due them a couple of hidings next season. Link to comment
Jazzer_Bett
Correct, Dingus can take a hike, he should go for Gary Kenneth instead Link to comment
SkyeDon
Motherwell have signed defender Simon Ramsden. Link to comment
Dynamo
Is he related to the Ramsden Cup? Link to comment

SupportmeansSUPPORT
P and J are reporting this morning that Aberdeen hopes of signing Reynolds again look to be fading as it is believed Reynolds preference is to remain in England. Neither Aberdeen or Bristol Rovers can get anywhere near his wages. McGhee is trying to convince him to move down to league 2, and that if he comes there and does well he will get a move to a bigger club in league 1 or a Championship team after Christmas. Wednesday would like him to move permanantly but are willing to sanction a 6 month loan in the hope of generating interest in the player in the January window. Link to comment
