"SHEFFIELD Wednesday are looking to ship out defensive duo Julian Bennett and Mark Reynolds.

Owls manager Dave Jones has told The Shefiield Star that neither of the duo have travelled to Portugal and conceded they do not figure in his long-term plans.

Jones, who is aiming to catpure another five players before the start of the Championship campaign next month, wants to trim the wage bill as he aims to reshape his squad.

Left-backs Bennett and Reynolds have yet to officially be put on the transfer list, but Jones has indicated the pair are free to look for new clubs.

I was under the impression Bristol Rovers had come in for Reynolds?

I'd maybe see Bristol City going for him, but don't think he'd go to Rovers.

If we could get Reynolds and Naysmith, I'd be delighted with our squad depth for the new year. (if it was possible to get a loan forward as well, I'd b ecstatic).

Wages are going to be a big factor on this,

Unless the board raise the budget i cant see us being able to get him!

I think it will be a loan with contribution to wages. He was probably contractually obliged for a wage rise on Sheffield Wednesday being promoted, so would think that most clubs interested in him would be able to take him on at his current wages.

If they really want to push up the table then these 2 would be great additions (Reynolds is three times the player Kenneth is)

I'd maybe be cheeky though and suggest getting the young RB lad we were linked with in too and maybe a cheeky wee striker addition.

In fact if we got the 4 above then the only thing that could top it would be selling Clark and Fallon. (or getting Faddy in)

Motherwell are absolutely skint however and are having to resort to emergency signings to ease their defensive crisis.

I have no particular beef with 'Well fans (even thoug they seem to hate us) however I hope they enjoy their wee jaunt into Europe as I fear they have a few tough years ahead of them.

We're due them a couple of hidings next season.

P and J are reporting this morning that Aberdeen hopes of signing Reynolds again look to be fading as it is believed Reynolds preference is to remain in England. Neither Aberdeen or Bristol Rovers can get anywhere near his wages. McGhee is trying to convince him to move down to league 2, and that if he comes there and does well he will get a move to a bigger club in league 1 or a Championship team after Christmas.

Wednesday would like him to move permanantly but are willing to sanction a 6 month loan in the hope of generating interest in the player in the January window.
