My worry is that we have no pace in midfield, Rae, Jack and Hughes worry me when we lose posesssion....and far too many square passes

We really need to go 442 get Hayes out wide and Pawlet or Fraser on the other wing

That's the thing that changed with the subs. As soon as Pawlett, Fraser and Magennis came on and started running at the County defence we caused a lot more problems. I'd definitely bring Fraser in for McGinn next weekend.

My guess is that Brown will go 4-4-2 next weekend.

Jack Rae Hughes Hayes in midfield

Vernon & Magennis up front.

Fraser will be on the bench along with Pawlett as an impact player I think.

'tis the Brown way sadly. It's not likely to change now.

Magennis for McGinn will be the only change I think, as he seemed pleased with the way we played in the last 2 games, so I don't see him making any what he would see as unecessary changes.

Magennis occasionally does this - makes a good impact for 10 minutes as a sub, he gets a chance in the next game, and looks pish!

Magennis should be used purely as an impact player. His only real assets are strength and pace which come into play best in the final 15-20 minutes when the opposition defense is tiring.

I do think Vernon needs someone up top with him though as he looks lost when he's up by himself and he has to do all the running.

I'd go with this team on Saturday:

---Clangers---

Ozzy--Anderson--Considine--Naysmith

Jack--Rae--Hughes--Milsom

Vernon--Hayes

I dont like that midfield basically 4 centre midfielders and now with the squad we have, i think we should be playing 2 wide players definately at home and most games away. Certainly at least one anyway.

I dont mind Rae & Hughes. Both decent players and playing them together at Celtic made sense. It didnt on Saturday. Was crying out for one of them not to start and Milsom to play.

Usually find Milsom's too one footed for centre midfield. Performed far better wide left last season.

cannot agree here at all. i thought milsom looked great when we first signed him (playing central) but struggled last season playing on the wing. what do others reckon?

I seem to recall him wide left against Dunfermline and Rangers (before he got binned) last season and both he and the team played out their skins.

I thought he was excellent in central midfield when he first signed, so much so that I never expected him to stay beyond the original 6 month deal.

Then last season he started very slowly as he had been put on the left and wasn't used to it. Couple of months in though, he was very comfortable in that role and was key to a lot of our good forward play.

If iI was to pick one, I'd prefer him in the centre, though wouldn't be too annoyed seeing him on the left.

AN SPL star has been charged with attacking a police officer.

Stephen Hughes, a former Scotland international, is accused of threatening behaviour in Motherwell town centre in March.
It is claimed he shouted and swore repeatedly and made threats in the town’s Muir Street.
Hughes, 30, who is from Motherwell, is also accused of assaulting PC Jordan Henderson by trying to punch him.
His friend Darren Killeen, 31, is charged with trying to prevent police officers from arresting Hughes.
Neither man appeared in the dock when the case was called at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.
Through their lawyer Charles Ferguson, they both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Sheriff David Bicket set a trail date for next January.
Midfielder Hughes started his career at Rangers where he made 90 appearances.
He went on to play for Leicester City, Norwich, Motherwell and Aberdeen. He is now training with St Johnstone.
Hughes made his one and only appearance for Scotland against Japan in 2009.
He was fined £200 in April 2005 at Hamilton Sheriff Court for swearing at cops and grappling with them during a night out with pals.
The officers had spotted him urinating behind a pub in Motherwell in the early hours of the morning.
In November 2004, Hughes appeared at the same court and was fined £450 after admitting driving his mum’s car with no insurance.
Five months earlier, six people were arrested after Hughes was allegedly beaten up in a street brawl outside a pub in Wishaw.
The player is said to have been battered with a stiletto shoe by a woman and punched on the head.
Two of his friends were also injured.

Makes you wonder why the GWT ever signed a player with such a long list of "off-field" misdemeanours...Did the old chancer not say he wouldn't consider both Leigh Griffiths and Derek Riordan due to their off field antics...all smacks of double standards to me.

I think Riordan Is in a different league to this in fairness.
