rdsred
Obviously can just judge it on 1 half and against a team of fringe players, but players who should be fighting for Man U 1st team, but really enjoyed the half. At last Dons played football passed it and looked like a team. Any coincidence Rae & Vernon weren't playing !! Not a big fan but thought Paton was exceptional, Milsom was excellent and played well with Hughes and Hayes had his best game in a red shirt, worked tirelessly and showed skill. Cadger still has pace and Reynolds looked good alongside him. Considine could be in a sticky situation. Christ even Langfield distributed the ball well. Don't think we had a bad player in 1st half. However, back to same team for Saturday and punt, hope not but we will see. Link to comment

Hughes was okay but we lack pace in that central midfield area. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Milsom looked good but his lack of game time showed big time before he came off cos he was shattered.Certainly done enough to deserve his rightful starting place though. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
What was the attendance? Apparently a sell out but there was certainly a few empty seats in the main stand but could have been down to a bus not making it or something. Otherwise everywhere looked full to bursting & all good for Simmy Thought I'd spell his name that way now as that's how he's said he likes it spelled & it'll wind up a few that have his name on the back of their shirts Link to comment

tutankamun
JorDON to give the suitably correct spelling :-) I think I was sitting behind his Mum. She hadn't said anything the whole game. Then when he came on she started cheering and everytime he got the ball she got all excited, shouting 'Come on!'. Bless. Link to comment

Not convinced - anytime anyone in a red shirt had the ball beyond the half way line it was "come on son". Unless, of course, she had many sons playing on the pitch. Given there were many surnames playing from us suggests her offspring are from multiple faithers. What that says about her, I'm not sure... Link to comment

Kilkito
I'm afraid my question is not MILF related, didn't notice any last night, but can someone tell me who the young left midfielder for us was in the first half, I'd assumed it was Shaughnessy, but I saw on here, someone said he only came on for 10 minutes, thought he made some smashing runs in the first half? rdsred
Bit more than 2 competitive games. New signings take time to bed into a team not instantly. I have seen him in 6 games (1 competitive game in the sense of non friendlies (as hes only played 1 so not sure where the 2 comes from), I think you will find) and I think thats the best game I have seen him play. F**k me, I'm giving him a compliment, hate to see the reaction if I was crticising him....... Anyway, bedding in time, will that be due to the different language he will have to learn, or the different food he isn't accustomed to or the leaving his previous friends and family 1000's of miles away in darkest Inverness ? Bedding into a team doesn't mean he cant beat a man, or work hard / trach back (all of which he did last night for the 1st time really well), granted understanding the runs of other players / their passing preferences, yes I agree, but doesn't stop him doping the basic functions of his role in the team. If there is no one on the end of his cross but hes made a good een, then that will come. Link to comment

Doesnt take a rocket Scientist (a real one not the one that posts on here) to guess where the 2 competitive games comes from... ummm that would be Celtic away and Ross Co, Home that I felt you were judging his performances on. Well done at going to all the friendlies but I couldnt give 2 hoots about them and how he played, they are all about building fitness. Where did I say anything about the different language or food. You knew fine well what I meant and I didnt think he was too bad in either game at beating a man or tracking back to be honest. Granted he didnt really have much service to create at Celtic park but on more than one occasion he tracked back and helped out Jack/Osbourne when Samaras looked to have got through. He didnt have the best game on Saturday but still beat the defender more than a few times and actually looked to be the only player going to score. Anyway I will agree that there is more to come from him, no doubt. Link to comment
