Aberdeen V Hearts

just as it did against morton, too

i think this guy gets too easy a ride

time for a spell on the bench

I'm tending to agree with you Frankie.

I'm a fan of Vernon, but he's so out of form.

The ball was just bouncing off of him, he got in the way a couple of times.

Won nothing and basically it broke down when it went to him.

Maybe Fallon might suit the 4-3-3 better or maybe Paton.

Don't know, but we need a finisher.

Paton or Magennis to take his place on Saturday

Some of the best football ive seen us play for ages. Just no end product which is a shame, but on that display things look good for this season, just need to start converting chances.

Osbourne was fucking amazing today. Never lost a header, was all over the pitch, and his distribution was first class.

Brown must go

Here we go :blahblah1:

Totally dominated a team who are there or thereabouts favourites outwith Celtic, current Scottish cup champs and have a much bigger budget than us. Just end product by scoring but how is that browns fault?? He has selected our best striker and top scorer last couple of years and if he did drop him for today then he would've been slagged off big time for it. After this showing he can drop vernon. The old boy cannot win whatsoever. Fans are entitled to opinions but if it's the same over and over then take it to the Craig brown thread, it's getting annoying after every match thread

Vernon up front on his own simply will not work, its not his game. Dont see the point in have rae osbourne and jack all playing. Even clark looked better when he came on.

Clark is afraid of a challenge, afraid of a header and afraid of his shadow. He managed to whip in a couple of crosses when nobody was near him but the instant an opposing player gets near him he shits in his huggies.

We would have won that game today if we had had more options or at least a better option for the wingers to send the crosses in. Should have given vernon a partner upfront earlier in the second half or put the or sub him and put the other two up earlier so that hayes and Fraser had more to aim at.

Vernon is having a difficult start. Tough choice for the manager, should he stick with him in the hope he hits the net soon and the confidence in him grows, we all know he has goals in him! Or does the manager bench him to give him time out and give someone else a chance.

One of the key attributes for a lone striker is to have the ability to hold the ball up and link play.

That is just NOT Vernon's game.

He is not that kind of player.

He prefers being on the end of things.

I'm not sure we have the type of player that can play the lone striker role

Fallon has an even worse touch than Vernon.

Good post. Think Vernon suits someone up front with him.

The thing is the substitution of Fallon was the right one, however that required Fraser to be kept on but as Brown said in his post match interview he had to take the wee man off which is fair enough.

It sounded almost entirely one way traffic on RedTV; at least what I heard which was the last 15 of the first and all the second halves.

Vernon is never an up front by themselves striker. He's always been best when he's had someone up front doing most of the hard work and feeding it right to him. I think that even Magennis would do better as a sole striker than Vernon to be honest. Maybe a swap to keep the formation and team (which is otherwise working well this season) of that single striker position while leaving Vernon on the bench if it goes to chalk

Very good performance yesterday IMO....first time in a long time i have came away from Pittodrie thinking i really enjoyed watching Aberdeen playing. What a difference a couple of direct wingers make!

First time i have seen the young lad Fraser playing - great little player who looks to have potential.

I did have a couple of negative points...possibly nit-picking....

- Vernon - thought he was poor and does not offer nearly enough to the team.

- Langfield on a couple of occassions could have cost us by not coming off his line to collect the ball.

- Chris Clark coming on - terrible player.

First game of season for me.

The team is looking very good. Amazing watching two wingers. Was funny when they got the ball and everyone is shouting 'skin him', Hayes and Fraser must be fucked today!

Ozzy was a beast, Rae had a few too many dodgy passes, Jack is just outstanding, my pick of the day(not that Fraser did anything wrong)

Hearts were poor and lacked discipline. We deserved a win. Very happy with performance though. And to taste the pies again

I thought yesterday was the worst game I've seen Jack have in a Dons shirt. Wasn't at the races and had 2 golden chances.

We have spent good money hiring a fucking hawk to get rid of these flying rats and now we have one as a fucking mascot?

Jesus Christ. :suicide:

This is worse than having gnomes in the club shop.

A seagull as a mascot?

Knock him out Angus. :scarf:
