Ke1t
Just throwing this out there. The majority of people reading the hat via a mobile device uses something running iOS. It means best isn't always, or even usually, the most popular. Budweiser and Bud Light, two of the weakest, pisslike drinks on the market, absolutely dominate global sales. The closest seller is 'Snow Beer', a domestic Chinese beer. Whether that's any good or not, I don't know... but unless you're drinking beer in order to stay perfectly sober, then Budweiser isn't 'The Best'. It's virtually tasteless and has minimal alcoholic content. I'm trying to imagine a genuine criteria by which Budweiser could actually be considered 'Best', aside from sales levels. But if 'sales' is the criteria by which we measure 'Best' then the 'best' book is the Bible, and the 'best' car is the Toyota Corolla. Link to comment
ChutneyLove
define a "minker"A minker has one definitive trait - and they take it with them wherever they go - they generate it - don't know how, but it definitely exists. It is the smell of their house. A minkers house always smells the same from mink to mink. There is of course the occasions when there are a higher concentration of minker molecules that makes the smell stronger - sometime so strong you only have to pass close to their house to smell it. I stopped going to a pub in Back Wynd a few years ago because it started smelling like a minkers house. Link to comment

Anyone agree? And it gets released today I see. Hud me back. I've had an IPhone since the first ones came out and I see no real difference bar the shape and the pointless Siri app. I am bored of it, upgrade due in December and I've been eyeing up the Samsung Galaxy 3. Still swithering, dont want to get another phone and hate it but I'd always have my 4S to fall back on if it did my head in too much. Link to comment

Problem is when Apple get you they have you by the balls....changing over to android would mean loosing itunes integration, which means changing music about on the old electronic abbacus, I just cant be hooped. Yes Sir Mr Apple Sir, another iPhone please, same as the last but with a different screen and camera again......... Some serious competition out there for Apple now though, hopefully this might spur them on to create another game-changer. 1 Link to comment
Gold DD1903 Posted September 12, 2012 Gold Share Posted September 12, 2012 So...what does everything make of the new iphone then?? Not really looked at the specs, but its an elongated 4, ain't it... Link to comment
stirlingsheep
Doesn't seem to be any real innovation to it. Faster processor and larger screen, will probably stick with my jailbroken iPhone 4 until my contracts up, then will get an Android based phone, probably the Galaxy SIII. Link to comment

Big Man
It looks fucking shit in my opinion, which is disappointing because I am due an upgrade from my IP4. I was expecting a complete re-design. Apple has seriously lost the plot recently. Link to comment
muttondressedaslamb
Loving the Samsung Galaxy S3.Absolutely stunning piece of kit. The pictures are crystal clear when watching films and TV. I use Drop box a lot so really appreciated the heaps of extra storage you get. I wonder if the Iphone 5 will look like the S3?Totally recommend it and I've finally got round to switching off the sent from my..... shite. As an aside have you thought of getting the Galaxy Nexus? They already have jelly bean apparently. Link to comment

I've got a 4 just now which I've pretty much worn out. I'm due an upgrade soon though, along with the mrs, so I've just been looking at the S111 just to see whats what and waiting to see what the 5 is like. The s111 looks a bit too big for my liking. My mate has a S2, and I think that is massive. WTF! Why are there ad links appearing in the posts? Its some money making thing spam3. I think. Edit - the fact i can get an s111 for 16.50 a month with the cheeky friends and family discount may be taken into consideration though! Link to comment

Some serious competition out there for Apple now though, hopefully this might spur them on to create another game-changer.To some extent that is true however there are apps that allow you to transfer playlists etc direct from iTunes to android, obviously not as good as the integration you get with all the apple products. I find iTunes such a badly designed piece of software anyway, very unintuitive. Got an iPad a year ago and really don't think much of it, wish I had gone for an android tablet. Can't see me ever buying another apple product, got a galaxy s2 and it is streets ahead of even the iPad. Link to comment

Least they aren't the ones that have pop-ups that get in the way of the text. Other reason for Android based phone is that as a computing teacher, we're starting to teach kids about building apps instead of the usual dull stuff in the new curriculum, (another reason for me to laugh at Saturday's Thick of It), and Apple have basically priced themselves out of the market for most schools, from a cost point by only allowing people to develop on Intel-based Macs with the latest OS and charging each individual Link to comment
muttondressedaslamb
I use my ipod to keep my music. And keep my phone for everything else. Ipod usually sits in my car unless I'm away on long journeys somewhere using other transport. If I'm listening to music in the house I'll play it through my computer. Link to comment

Samsung S3 in combination with Spotify Premium, for me, negates the iTunes stranglehold on the iPhone. Ridiculous to see that, essentially, all you've ended up with is a bigger screen. Hardware wise, the S3 is still superior to the iPhone 5 despite being older. Link to comment
