NorthernLights24
Got this game for the Xbox the weekend before last and it is the only game I've been playing since then. I never played any of the original Xcom games but I was familiar with the name and the good publicity these games had. I had played a similar game in Chaos Gate back in the day. It is bloody addictive once you get into it. I was up until 4:30am this morning playing it. I completely lost track of time! It is a tricky game though. I thought I was doing well until I started losing soldiers pretty quickly. I just didn't have the fire power needed to take out the more powerful aliens and ended up being slaughtered. It is pretty gutting when you've got one of your soldiers levelled up and kicking ass only to see them killed by a sneaky flank attack or you miscalculate a move leaving them hopelessly exposed. Anyone else got this game? Link to comment
Monkey
Got this for the PC. Not sure how similar the console versions are but this is a fantastic remake and I can't stop playing this game. Nothing more frustrating than losing a soldier you've spent ages levelling up due to a wrong move at the end of a turn. I've somehow ended up with 5 heavy troops and only 1 assault but I've managed to develope 2 kick ass snipers!Very much old school style turn based gaming. Link to comment

I started a new game the other day and learnt from some of my mistakes. I managed to get laser rifles at last and they make a huge difference. I managed to do the first terror mission without taking a single hit and rescued 14/18 civilians. I also paid for the training to get 5 squad members which helps. I lost a couple of folk in the last two missions. The worst one was when I forgot my sniper was next to a car that was on fire. The car went boom and my sniper was killed Link to comment
