Part Time Career?

Reading Daytripping's post where he was saying that he had a 2nd job delivering food or suchlike, and it struck a chord with me.

 

Recently I've been thinking about getting into a totally different line of work, purely as a hobby/second job, rather than as a complete change of career. While what I do is a largely good money for very old rope, it's hardly what I would call interesting or stimulating work.

 

Has anyone here started a 2nd job which has ultimately led to an entirely different career path?

It was years ago that I did it, too lazy these days.

 

I did it as a stopgap but loved working there (Eat it and beat it) so much I stayed for ages, the tips were great and the food served was top notch, you could help yourself to anything when you wanted, used to get some laugh and dealing with a large queue of drunk punters at 2 in the morning was its own fun. Would recommend it to anyone short of cash or looking for a change, you'd be surprised how much money is tipped, fairly boosted the wage.

I have a 2nd job. Pays well and I enjoy it. Thinking about giving it up to spend more time with the family, but will definitely go back to it in the future. Also, my wife gets all the dough from my main job to pay the bills / shopping / whatever the fuck she does with it - the 2nd job money is mine to spunk on my own shit.

Yes its great having a second job, pays for a few trips to Monaco every year

I'd love to turn photography into a full time gig but it'll possibly end up being part time that and a second job somewhere else. I'd love to work in a bar but nae in Aberdeen. Living in Barça and having photography as my career is the dream.
