I don't imagine Jack, Flood and Robson have played together too often for us. Maybe 5-6 times?

When they have Robson has been pushed out to wide right. That worked quite well initially as Robson was playing out of his skin (away to Arabs a highlight) but was more than he could handle after a while, as we created very little in the Killie, Hibs and ICT games before Jack's injury against Motherwell.

My point is that I think Jack is our third best central midfielder, and that playing him in that position, when Flood and Robson are also available, then means Robson being pushed outside his natural habitat which makes us less dangerous.

Jack still a good prospect and has played, and will play, a major part in our season.

This the main point for me,

Out of depth against a decent midfield,

Stand by that 100% - hes been very poor against he better teams, in particular the last chunk of games he played.

But then again can do no wrong in your eyes.

You're showing yourself up to be deliberately thrawn, or incredibly naive.

Of course he makes mistakes, but he's shown a tremendous level of consistently good, not spectacular, performances for close on 3.1/2 years now. The amount of games he's started is testament to that, considering he's 21.

Not bad for someone out of his depth I'd say.

Bulk of games hes played at right back no?

Where he has been pretty decent!!! Infact one of the better right backs we've had.

Compared to the likes of Rae / Hughes / Osbourne he would stand out, compared to Flood and Robson hes nowhere near there class.

That and the fact hes better at right back, even though its not the position he wants to play in.

Back on topic....

Imagine how dangerous our squad would be if we had kept Ryan Fraser. We'd blow every team in the SPL away with Fraser, Pawlett, Hayes and McGinn running at defenses.

I'd like to see more direct, surging runs from Pawlett. He's doing it more often, but he still tends to drift in and out of games. His confidence looks sky high and after those two cup wins i'm hoping he's going to be even more dangerous in the last quarter of the season.

I think things wouldnt have turned out like this if Fraser had stayed - I reckon we'd have kept our form going last season, Craig Brown would not have retired and he would have signed a one year extension.

£500k for Fraser and Craig Brown oot - nae the worst deal in the world

Paton had some ability - it was a shame he seemed to have a bit of a bad attitude and also terrible management didnt help.

Peter Pawlett is world class and by far better than Bryan McGuald at Dundee United. We should be looking for at least £8,000,000 for him in the summer when Everton eventually come knocking.

Now he is seen as a direct replacement for one of Manchester Uniteds best players, we should probably be looking for £14,000,000.

Jack is a far better footballer than Flood.

Guess I'm a gimp then as I'd have flood in my team before Jack every day of the week.

Indeed you are.

The one thing I'd like Flood to learn in pre season training is how how to pass to a team mate.

That's the one thing that really bugs me about him.

If he could master that Strachan would cap him.

Flood's worth to Aberdeen is never in question, certainly nae by me, and I'd rather have him in my team than not.

But never in a million years is he a better footballer than Jack.

I'll expand on what Tommy said. Jack has been called up recently to the Scotland squad. Flood? Nowhere near it...
