E-P-K
It has a digital display, it's saying low water pressure, contact installer. how do I refill? it has taps on the bottom? I have had numerous issues with my boiler having low pressure resulting in no hot water / heating. I just re-pressurize the boiler till it is approx 1.5 bar (22.5 PSI), Link to comment
daytripping
It has a blue, yellow and 2 black taps, one tap has a dial beside it, pressure is about 0.5 or less. Link to comment

E-P-K
epk, Any idea how to do that? Sorry min, I only know how to pressure up the boiler I have, which is an old one, where you have a T-piece key that gets installed into the boiler from below, and then when it is engaged, you pressure it up. The Boofon
epk, Any idea how to do that? More than likely a square shaped tap head under the boiler. Turn it a touch and you'll here water coming in. That's assuming of course that you have a closed system which I'd say is likely given you're getting a low pressure warning. What make of boiler is it? Link to comment
daytripping
Panic over, I reckoned as there were only 4 taps I couldn't do much damage so just opened them to see what happened, hit the jackpot on tap 2, now sitting at 1.5 bar. Thanks for the help all. 1 Link to comment

daytripping
It's a proud moment when the man of the house rides to the rescue, step aside woman this is man business. As I heard the boiler click into gear and fire up I couldn't have been more pleased if I scored a last minute winner for the dons at Ibrox. My work here is done was my final thought as I closed the loft hatch, this family have been saved from a slow death at the hands of jack frost, and it's all down to me. 4 Link to comment

I wonder what caused the problem in the first place? We had a similar problem and after getting out Scottish gas 3-4 times one of my brothers came out, had a look and returned from his van with a foot pump and blew some kind of balloon in the boiler up. Fuck knows whit but we haven't had to top the pressure up with the tap since. Link to comment

Maybe some water dries up all over time or it takes time to settle in a new system, I remember the installer guy mentioning that it may need topping up in the future. Link to comment

Are all your radiators heating up and are they heating up complete as in not one half cold one half hot? Fuck listen to me as if I ken what I'm on about. There bound to be a plumber on here or does every cunt work on the rigs up there? I'll ask my brother for some gen the morrow. Link to comment
Sheef
As water heats up pressure builds. The expansion tank allows water in. (big red ball) My one is knackered (full of water) so the water cannot expand into it anymore so it vents out another emergency valve elsewhere i assume. This means I have to re-pressurise by adding more water into the system every now and then. You have done just that Daytripper - assuming no leaks then i suspect your expansion vessel is probably needing re pressurised or is knacked. Get the foot pump out or show the missus how to do the business in the loft. Link to comment

Pudgie
I have combi boiler. My shower sometimes isn't warm despite heating being on and at 1.5 - fit is the issue Oh and yes the warmth is at a pretty high level. Flush the system? How far is the shower from the boiler? Link to comment
Pudgie
About a 2 second walk. 10 paces roughly. I can't be arsed getting out of bed to count but yeah 10 paces. I don't know what make it is and can you bring me juice?Well I'm fucked if I know then. The output of the boiler might not be sufficient for (is it a power) shower but that's a last chance problem. E-P-K
It's not power. It's the same shower as when I moved in, I don't expect you to know what shower I had when I moved in but I am trying to paint a picture here. It doesn't have specific levels of heat - just turn the knob all the way round and it should be hot... But it is warm for about 30seconds then goes colder. The temperature is set from me turning dials on the boiler, it's still winter so it's at the high level. In Summer I take it down. Stupid cunt of a thing. Oh it was serviced 2 weeks ago but I wasn't here at the time of service to ask this question to the boiler man. For the case of this story we will call him Grant, Grant the boiler man - although he's not crucial to my question. When the cold water starts after 30 seconds, does the pressure drop at the boiler pressure gauge ? Is it the same if you run the bathroom / kitchen taps, bath ? Could be something as simple as a thermostat, or a micro switch, or something more hassle as the flow rate, or diaphram. I would phone your service company, say you have been on holiday since day after it was serviced, and you have returned home to the his problem, and the problem only happened after the service, get your arse round to fix.pronto. double-claw
if your shower is coming through lukewarm, it will be as simple as you are running the shower too quick and the boiler can't heat the water quick enough. as long as the boiler is coming on with HW demand then its either what I said above or 1 other possibility!! The Boofon
Make sure you get a Corgi registered plumber to fix it, your insurance won't pay out if you don't. Well said. Same goes for fucking about with dishwashers. Link to comment
