We're Now Playing For Third At Best?

Recommended Posts

"I still think there's potenital to get maybe even the 3rd place but eh.. looks like Motherwell are going to be a comfortable 2nd"

Utterly fucking flabbergasted - if kept on think that be it for me - lack of ambition is unbelievable.

P.S. Motherwell are 3rd just now and just 5 ahead of us!!

I've lost faith in Aberdeen and struggling to even look at results now.

How can Hibs unearth players like McPake and Williams and we bring back Clark????

How can Hibs take a chance on a player like Williams who came through Manchester United and we look at a cheap and nasty foreign import??? Williams has saved 4 out of 6 penalties he's faced!

Richie Foran, another we let slip through our fingers yet runs us riot for Inverness. I could go on and on.

You could do the above for any club, an utterly pointless comparison.

Craig Brown's post match interview summed him up, but defied belief.

He said Motherwell look like they'll be a comfortable second as "they are the 2nd best team in the country"

He also said the players have been told we need to concentrate on getting in the top 6....

Unambitious, boring shite. Top 6?! That should be an absolute given and taken for granted.

Get rid of this old conservative goat asap and replace him with a younger manager with a bit of fire in his belly and some ambition.

The crowds at Pittodrie will be lucky to break 6000 now - that if nothing else will surely mean he won't get a new contract out of us.

It's important that we try and put this result behind us and concentrate on doing as well in the league as possible. We can make something of this season, as difficult as it is to think like that just now fresh from such disappointment.

It's not like the exits of previous seasons where we've had nothing to play for after the semi-finals. This season is turning into a disappointing one, but we must not let it turn into a disaster.

However in my own opinion I can see us continuing to feel hard done by, thus our poor form continuing and finding ourselves in the bottom six.

Top 6 is now AFC's target, official.

Interviewer: "It just leaves you to concentrate on getting a top 6 finish now. you just have to say to the players, right lads, this is what we've got left."

Brown: "Absolutely. I've already said to them nothing short of that will be acceptable. Our objective is to get right into that top group."

Yay.

Defies logic him saying that, fcuk knows what he sees in Motherwell.... The squad he has (ok short of a few players) should be challenging for 2nd... Brown TGF

Talk about mixed messages.......

Such an important week just gone play teams above and below us and a cup tie as well and manage to fxxx up the league and the cup.

1 pt from 6 from our two closest rivals, a 2nd team played to rest Milsom and Hayes for the cup and pawlett left out as it would be awkward. But top six is the goal

Fenlon then learnt from last week he put griffiths back in the middle and packed the midfield.

We just put Anderson back in - this despite the problem of last week being that McGinn was too isolated and needed support

So many mixed messages i have no idea. Brown himself says the players are blameless and worked their socks off.. I can accept that I found it difficult to blame any player. So that leaves the set up and the tactics and that sits with brown. Fenlon beat brown today by learning about last week - brown didn't it felt like he wanted a draw to get back to pittodrie

We changed the midfield we completely controlled the week before and stuck our best midfielder from that game out wide!!

He really is a dottery auld fool? wtf motherwell? caley have far and away been the revelation

He undoubtably would rather go all misty eyed for a time when the game was a "nicer" place to be...Broons looking down the barrel of the after dinner circuit ...he's not going to be pissing anybody off quite the opposite he's looking to attract customers...the old cu*ts at it

Brown does not have a Plan B

By us, I assume you mean the players. Why do you think they are feeling hard done by?

Are we criticising them too much?

Nah, I mean feeling hard done by in terms of not being in the cup. Reckon some of them may feel their efforts in the last twenty minutes deserved better. We certainly aren't criticising them too much!

Whilst we'd all like to see the players dust themselves down and try and make the most of the rest of this league season, I have a feeling we will see the slide continue.

13 games to go... 25 games played and on 32 points... How many points does he need to get to justify a contract extension ? Not position in the league, actual results. 39 points left to play for, and we're averaging 1.28 points per game... 8 wins out of 13 seem fair ? Too harsh ? Discuss...

There really isn't an option to give him a new deal.

He has to go.

Fuck the rangers then, fuck the rangers now, fuck the rangers forever.

No cos I dinny think even that would be enough to take second place :dontknow:

8 wins would put us on 56 points.

Add a couple of draws to that & we're talking what 58 points max?

No second is gone, as is third realistically.

I can see it.

Brown can see it but he just hopes that the majority of us tubes canny.

The league season finished two games ago (& the writing was on the wall loooooong before) & the rest of the season finished Tonight.

No point letting Broon carry on playing the side now.

Yes pay him his wage til Summer. That's a given but the lack of signings in Jan (that we needed) can cover the new managers wage NOW.

Bring in the new manager NOW. So he kens the side to get us off & running next season as a fucking competitive team.

Derek McInnes (just saying like) referred to the huns (a good few times when a pundit for the utd hun game) as the rangers & stressed it enough for me to like him a little more :dontknow:

Think he's after a job?

But in all honesty & regardless of who is out there to replace him. Brown really must go. His tea's ooooooot!
