He's no better than Langfield.

Agreed. Having played these last few years for Dunfermline is testimony to that

I'm not sure Dunfermline have any players that would interest us.

Jordan McMillan is a decent player, but right back is not a priority as Shaughnessy & Jack cover that well.

Surely we should have a first 11 of people actually playing in their preferred position. Neither Jack nor Shaughnessy are right back by preference. I accept we need flexibility as back-ups but it'd be nice if we weren't always shoe horning people into positions simply to make up the numbers.

In an ideal world yes.

But two things I'd say to that;

1) Jack & Shaughnessy have both looked pretty good there IMO

2) Right back is not a priority.

Come the summer, with the players that will probably be leaving, centre mid will be priority, and a striker too.

Cover at left back will probably be more of a priority if Naysmith leaves, as that would only leave Clark Robertson

Davidson has said he doesn't want to go to Sevco.

Apparently.

Is there an online source for that Karl?

ABERDEEN and Rangers are set to battle it out for Murray Davidson’s signature.

New Dons boss Derek McInnes wants to make the St Johnstone midfielder his first signing at Pittodrie.

But Ally McCoist has not given up hope of capturing Davidson on a free as he rebuilds his squad for next season.

Sunsport understands McInnes has already made contact with Davidson’s representatives. And he is hoping to get the Scotland international tied up on a pre-contract deal before the season ends.

Rangers have also made their interest known and could offer the 24-year-old more money.

But Davidson last night hinted he wouldn’t want to drop down the leagues to play for Gers.

He said: “You look at people like Lee Wallace. They dropped down and you’d have to ask them if it affected them. But as a player I want to go and play at the highest level possible.

“It’s obvious Rangers are not playing at the level I’m playing at right now. So I’d be dropping down a level. That would be a big factor when I look at my options.”

Former Saints boss McInnes signed Davidson from Livingston in 2009 and planned to take him to Bristol City this summer before he was axed

IMO, I don't think any of them are what we are looking for.

i would actually take a few of them on trial with a view to taking in cardle and jordan, even barrowman, until the end of the season, that is of course unless the free transfer dealine has passed. which to be fair was probably last month. nae much of a loss there then haha

If their contracts are torn up, as redundancy would do, they are free agents. We can sign any of them if we want to....it's just that I don't think they'd improve us.

There are a few players in Div 1 that would improve us, no doubt, just not them.

The likes of Stefan Scougall at Livingston is a very good footballer, but he's under a 4 year contract so a big fee would be needed.

if the player has no contract, and is therefore a free agent, then I think any club can sign them.

No chance.

Scotland U-21 international with a 4 year contract?

Where are we finding the sizeable fee that it would take?

Shite journalism as per usual.

How big is a sizeable fee? This is a first division club we're talking about here. Desperate for cash.

3-0 down at half time in the 1st leg of their promotion/relegation play off semi final against Forfar.

Remarkable turnaround from Dunfermline in the semi-final. After losing the first leg 3-1 (from what I've read it could have been a lot worse) they won the second leg 6-1 after extra time. Forfar didn't exactly help themselves by getting three players sent off after taking the lead in the second leg.

I watched their play off final against Alloa tonight and once again they are left with a massive task on their hands after losing 3-0 tonight. Will there be another remarkable result in the second leg? I doubt it will but it was great to see a team like Alloa having what was surely a full house tonight. They had to delay kick off tonight for 10 minutes to let everyone in. Hopefully the SPL get the play offs sorted for next season.

Alloa are a better team than Forfar and they won't play with 8 men.

Alloa looked good tonight and played some tidy football under Hartley.

The 3rd goal was a really well worked passing, team goal.
