Mcinnes Watch

McInnes is doing just fine so far. A few avoidable mistakes which have led to a couple of disappointing results (Hearts, Smurn) but otherwise heading in the right direction.

The measure of a manager is an ability to learn from mistakes, however, and if he persists in playing Zola up front and/or dicking around with Vernon's position (his only worth as a footballer is as a finisher) then I will start to get concerned.

For now, though, I am still very much onside.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I'm also of the opinion that McInnes is doing a decent job, and has the potential to do a lot better. He's created a fresh cohesive squad in a relatively short time. Some bad luck with injuries, particularly with Flood and Robson hasn't helped the cause. Admittedly Zola doesn't appear to have been a very wise acquisition so far, but time will tell. I said when he first arrived I'd give him until January to appraise him fully. So far I'd give him 7 out of 10. Hopefully he'll make it up to 9 by then.

I'd prefer 1/12 or 2/12.

1. Congratulated McCoist on his 8-0 win against no hopers Stenhousemuir with a squad assembled for eight figures against fat lads on petrol money who probably had hundreds on the new huns to win on the fixed odds.

That's the first glimpse of the hunnery straining under the surface like a big pus filled spot just begging to be burst open.
