Niall Mcginn - Signs Extension Until 2016

Recommended Posts

Scott Vernon has only played as Striker a handful of times this season...Brooner seems to think he's a midfielder or a wide left player.

Nonsense RS.

He's had plenty opportunities up front this season and stunk the place out.

Shite. He played up front August until start of December with an awful return. He then had a horrible spell in midfield when we had others out and has recently returned up front after being benched for a while.

He's played an incredible amount this season, mostly as a striker, and been fucking shite.

Fit he said.

At 25 years old and playing the best football in his life and a regular starter for his country... he could do a lot worse than sign up for a few more years. Keep this form up and he'll get a transfer to a big team anyway. If he lets his contract run he'll just go to some shite like Derby County and slowly watch his international career fade away. Nominated for PFA Player of the Year :applause:

Leigh Griffiths, Michael Higdon and Andrew Shinnie also up for nomination.

Well done Niall. Well deserved on the basis of his first half of the season.

I dread to think where we'd be without him! .... probably embroiled in a relegation dogfight with Bomber Browns boys!

Griffiths will win it

Wanyama the young player.

And to answer the question in the thread, we should offer Niall McGinn a contract to make him our top earner, If he doesn't re-sign, we should try and sell him.

We can't afford to let a player worth a huge amount to us go for a pittance in January, or for hee haw next summer.

Griffiths goals have won Hibs more points than McGinn's have Aberdeen, so we'd be above them.

ESPN mentioned it the other night

Can't remember the figures, something like McGinn's won us 14 points, Griffiths 16.

Celtic might take him back...most I can see them offering and us accepting is £500k...we might get £750k from a Championship club...he'll be gone in the summer.

We'll be lucky to get £750k.

When you see offers of £360k for Johnny Russell we'd struggle to get £750k...

Anything around £500k and Milne will shite himself and grab it.

Rod Petrie would stand his ground and get the right fee.

That doesn't make sense.

Surely if Wanyama wins young player, then he is better than Griffiths.

If he is better than Griffits, he would be nominated for POTY.

I think Griffiths will win both.

From who? United turned down €600,000 last week from Catania. Holding out for a 7 figure sum. They'll get it too.

600,000 was the total fee apparently, paid on the drip, if certain criteria were met.

360,000 was the initial up front fee.

Lennon is only coming with the mock outrage for his players just so he can make sure he gets the manager of the year ahead on Butcher or Adam etc.

& will hope his excuses for his players will be noticed when it comes to the manager of year decision.

Exactly. So he wants a team who cost more than most of the SPL combined and who stuttered towards one of the easiest title wins ever to be rewarded? Laughable

Personally think McGinn should win it, caue of how shite we've been yet he's scored that amount of goals, but i think Higdon will win it

Aberdeen FC’s McGinn today handed the Red Army a massive boost by confirming he is staying at Pittodrie.

A massive boost would be that he is wanting an extended deal.

Yes I want him to stay but I also don't want him to fuck off for fuck all after next season.

Exactly.

If he won't extend his stay, we should look to sell this summer

We are not in a position to let an asset like him go for nothing.

Bad management if we do.....so that's what'll happen.

I think Griffiths will win it. Hope McGinn gets it. I'd probably have Commons ahead of Shinnie though.

How embarrassing that a team struggling near the bottom of te championship don't even want the potential SPL player of the year! Surely they should have taken him back in January. He maybe wrecked his chances of a return with those racist comments in January.
