daytripping
Good news then, play offs are great entertainment, when we beat Dunfermline it was a brilliant night down there. Hope we're never in them but like them. Fairer cash split as well, all sounds ok. Link to comment
rgudon
Presume first and second place in the SPL will be taking no hit at all or increased money under this new structure...? Link to comment

Guest
Just how does this change the manner in which Scottish football works? Will it imrpove the quality of our National team, help produce better young players? Will SPL top flight matches be any more entertaining? It sounds to be like they voted these through for the sake of voting something, ANYTHING through! Seems like 1st Div teams are much better off, but the current SPL sides have the status quo. I hope never to have to be in a position where the likes of the Dunfermline match brings us entertainment. I also assume voting structure remains at 11-1? Pile of crap, lame duck exercise. What an opportunity to change our national game and netx to bugger all has been achieved. Link to comment

Nae shock I suppose as you can't please ab'dy but come on FFS. This is progress that we have been screaming for for years! How can you girn aboot it? 1 Link to comment

Bit short sighted there, TWL, these changes are being for the good of the game. Surely it's good news to have a single league body, fairer cash distribution, a pyramid model and play offs? The improvements to the Football side won't happen overnight but hopefully that will come in time. Would you have preferred fuck all happened and the status quo remained? 1 Link to comment
tommo1903
Its a start. One league body of 42 would mean more voices on matters as opposed to 12 teams looking out for themselves. Link to comment

What an opportunity to change our national game and netx to bugger all has been achieved. I don't think anyone was under the impression that changing the way league structures work in this country was going to have any real effect on our game at an international level and for the development of younger players. If anything, with the wealth being distributed out to more clubs, there's more of a chance of being able to better fund facilities for the growth of better young players. As for top flight matches being more entertaining, I side with you on that one - there's not going to be much difference, but at least now the format of the top tier is about our only real concern. As for the voting system, nothing seems to have been reported on that front.I'm led to believe it's 2nd that takes the big hit. From what I've seen on twitter, it's virtually the same proposal that was on the table a few weeks ago re financial distribution, meaning Celtic are likely to lose out the most, assuming they continue to finish first. Great news re money distrobution take the cash away from the SPL and give it to the SFL - who is in the sfl againGreat news re play offs - if the rangers do not make top spot in division one when they get there give them another crack at itvoting- probably the same -benifit the rangers once they get back up saying that i am for it so far but want to see the so called small print This is beginning to sound really, really pathetic. Any time there is the slightest hint of change in this country or anything is spoken from those in charge nowadays, it is immediately assumed that it's for the benefit of the Huns. You think that the play-offs are engineered to give Sevco a greater chance of making the top tier? Get a grip. 1 Link to comment

Pudgie
Pudgie, working on basis that we don't want to be involved in play offs, what benefit is thereto an AFC supporter?Very little. Hopefully the change won't impact us as we shouldn't be caring about relegation play offs. It's Scottish football it'll change. Div 1 teams bet better, as do the rest, the gap's closed between each league and then we might be able to attract positivity for a larger league. Fit would you have wanted to see voted through theday? Link to comment

Kilkito
What's the benefit to a fan of AFC ? As fars as I can see, there is no benefit whatsoever. I do think the changes are a good thing, without a doubt there should only be one governing body, there should be play-offs, and there should be a pyramid system, so it is a positive change. However, it does not benefit us, and you have to think the overall effect on the Scottish game will be minimal at best. Scottish football is in rapid decline, we need visionaries and radical thinkers to try and effect change, instead we have muppets tweaking at the edges! Link to comment

Pudgie
Great. That top three items were just being discussed by me and mates. SPL TV I'm unsure of. It might work, it could crash and burn and we'd have to get the begging bowl out for SKY again. Question is, is it worth the risk? Link to comment
