Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has announced that Rory Fallon, Mitch Megginson, Rob Milsom, Gary Naysmith, Isaac Osbourne, Gavin Rae and Dan Twardzik will not be offered new contracts when their current deals expire at the end of the month while midfielders Stephen Hughes and Jordon Brown have been informed that they are free to look for a new club.

The club can also confirm youngsters Scott MacAulay, Zach Szemis, Stuart Close and Jamie Hamilton will be leaving the club.

By the looks of things McInnes clearly sees the problems in the midfield area.

 

Would rather have seen Magennis released but meh.

Certainly impressed by Del's boldness to make those calls but not sure I agree 100% with them.

 

I would have offered Milsom and Ozzy one year deals (perhaps on reduced terms) and wouldn't have held on to Magennis.

Magennis performance against Celtic is maybe the reason he is staying along with because he's young i would think he's on a lesser wage than others.

Clark's broken leg probably saved him from the cull. Could be a late contender for the traditional AFC transfer deadline day pay someone to fuck off although obviously there are two clear favourites now for the August payday.

With Pittodrie currently a drain on our ever dwindling resources, maybe the plan is to pull out of the SPL next season and enter a 5-a-side team at Goals in Bridge of Dee instead.

good news. Agree with all those decisions by McInnes. Shame for Osborne, as he's a class act. But too injury prone for us. We've not got a big enough squad to keep players like that who are likely to be injured more than available.

 

Magennis deserves another year as a utility squad player, not least as he'll be cheap.

I don't think anyone would be willing to take over his contract as he's probably on a fair whack after leaving a Championship club to resign with us.

Poor Twardzik, Pa Broon brought him in at the start of the year (supposedly on a 2 year deal wasn't it ??) and he will never get a game. I think it just goes to show he was a lazy signing.

 

Hughes is another who has a weird contract situation...seems he is on some sort of rolling contract or something. Thank god we are letting him go. Absolute shite

 

Jordon Brown, never really saw him but a few on here said he showed promise. Lot's of youth players dont make it though. Forfar will maybe keep him.

I had a bit of faith in Mcinnes, but for anyone to make an assessment and decide Josh Mcgennis has the requisite footballing ability to drive Aberdeen forward , is quite frankly bonkers. Poor decision
