Huntlysheep
Hopefully the new keeper is of a higher quality than Langfield & disna pish himself in a big game. I can see Langfield being offered reduced terms to be a number 2 or told to fuck off. Link to comment
King Street Loon
You won't be so chuffed when he brings in Barry Ferguson as captain. Must do better tup. You're slipping these days. Link to comment

If you're nae playing you're nae earning as much. Link to comment
The Hulk
He's under contract - you can't change the exisiting terms of his contract just because you feel like it.You can change any contract with the agreement of the other party but it does have to be unanimousl;y agreed. He could for example be on a £2k basic at the moment, whereas he could be offered a £1500 basic with £1k appearance fee to incentivise him to battle for the jersey or else be transfer-listed for cost-saving purposes. No different to many companies who've had to offer pay cuts in the recession. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Good work from McInnes again to release Twatstick. Hopefully the "challenge langfield" etc comment will be backed up with signing a keeper he really rates. If he has watched video of the teams performances over the season he will have spotted some common themes in the teams failures surely Langers is one of those. The only problem is letting Leighton identify a cheap option... I'm optimistic that McInnes won't piss about and will use his own judgement rather than some no mark Leighton recommends. 1 Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
It will be someone rubbish we sign, as back up for clangers. So negative. Why would it be? we could have just kept Twardzic if that was the case. I'm confident that McInnes will find BETTER than Clangers but only as long as Jimbo has fuck all to do with it. Link to comment

Frank Butcher
I don't think Leighton, would have much say overall in recent signings. He ain't heard of any of these clowns until the day they turn up at Balgownie some sunny day in July. Must be the worst week of Jims year he must fucking hate it. Busso, some young lad fae Nairn, and John Burridge all rock up willing and eager and desperate to win the £500 a week deal , Two days later he has to make a decision but finds out Budgie has got a job managing his mates pub in Dartford, as it got a pub team and they need a keeper so he guaranteed a game. While the young lad fae Nairn had to go back offshore. So he lumbered with his recommendation for the next 9mths, No wonder having to work with shit like that and the resident clown clangers Jim looks utterly depressed 90% of the time. Poor man. He must go to work with the knowledge that no matter how much coaching you can give them about positioning etc, that there sheer lack of discipline and concentration will lead to the inevitable repeat fuck up sooner or later. tup
Sounds to me as if you're wildly over optimistic about our prospects with a staunch hun in the dugout sheepish. He's gone from being the worst manager in the history of Bristol city to the new Fergie in the blink of an eye. All this on the back of one win in four against the dross of the league, having chickened out of the two important fixtures we had left. 1 1 Link to comment

Have I said he's "the new Fergie"You are just making things up now.A bit like your "exclusives" For the record. I didn't want him as manager. But now that he is, I'll give him a chance to show if he's up to it or not.And the last 4 games of a "dead" season are not the time to start to judge him like you've done.I'll wait until August and take it from there. I'm more of a mind to give full support to him until such time as he deserves to be turned on (if at all) it's not a competition to see who's right longest about the quality of manager he is.You can give yer full support & then if it turns out that that support was misguided, well guess what? you can ACTUALLY change your opinion of him If he turns out to be the next great manager of our club, well you can fuck off if you think yer then getting on our band wagon then cos you'll have burned your bridges by then. Mikeyboy1903
Possibly one of the best posts I've glazed my eyes over since registering on this forum..... Every year I see this. Excited fans bouncing at the words the club come out with, then by mid-season the crushing realisation that words don't put the ball in the net on a Saturday. Words, at this point, are meaningless. Actually I take that back. We've been lied to and deceived so often by this club that words are, in fact, less than meaningless. They're usually a smokescreen to buy the club another year of mediocrity with the trade-off being a few hundred less fans season upon season. The budget is being cut... we're unlikely to come up with a better squad on a lesser budget. That's what other clubs do, not us. We, I believe, are about to make it twenty years without a trophy because top to bottom we've proven ourselves to be utterly inept on every level at virtually everything we do. Again, I suspect it's deliberate sabotage by this point, but that's by the by. A few well-considered words from Derek McInnes don't change a thing regarding the reality of our situation. That reality is, we're broke, we're not getting a new stadium, we've a manager who seems to have been hired because he was free, the playing budget will be cut, we'll have a smaller squad next season, Clark and Langfield are going nowhere, we have (as has been mentioned) no leaders on the pitch, and regardless of what words are used there's no actual reason for optimism at this point. There needs to be a basis upon which to place optimism.... Derek McInnes saying the right thing is a pretty wobbly basis. I'll be optimistic some time near the end of next season if we're still in a cup and pushing for second. Right now the club has my complete indifference to their words. EDIT: Reading that over again it seems pretty harsh. Harsh but true, though. 1 Link to comment
ericblack4boss
have to agree a string of managers have come out and said the right things at times but actions speak louder than words especially at our club. Now everyone knows HUN DMC wasn't in my top 5 for preference to replace Brown , but we are where we are and i am ging to give him the summer only to convince me for too many times in the past we have waited for managers with the long term view only to be still waiting 2 years later, well sorry HUN DMC, you have the summer to make the changes, that need to be made i will not accept budget constraints as an excuse, when you arrived i am pretty sure the club was resigned to bottom six and so will have budgetted acordingly. So HUN DMC you have talked the talk time to walk the walk and don't forget we will be watching. 1 2 Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
McInnes I hope you don't think you're done regarding the squad. We still need a decent keeper (granted you are looking at one now but don't underestimate the importance of this signing)We also still need a FB, preferably a LB cos we are very weak there. Yes you've made three & possibly four very good signings so far & in areas that badly needed it & you have also hopefully signed a decent prospect for future but we are still very weak in a couple of areas. I hope you still have a little left of your budget to sort out these weaknesses. & maybe even after that you could sweet talk in a couple of freebie loan signings nearer the end of the window also 1 Link to comment
