The Bull
The arrival of Flood and Robson probably means that we've given up hope on Davidson, who'll no doubt have a better option down south. Whilst I see both Flood and Robson as improvements on what we have / had, I still think Scott Arfield is a better option. Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
Arfield would be a great option, Id take flood before Robson, Robson is in the Milsom mould Link to comment

The Bull
I wouldnt rule out Arfield signing just yet I can't see us signing all three who can operate in similar positions when we need to strengthen in a number of areas. Don't get me wrong, I'd take all three at Pittodrie. Link to comment

Sonoftherock
great signing imo as a very good player does not suddenly become pish According to the Sheffield United and Vancouver Whitecap forums he's not suddenly just become pish. The process has taken around about 18-24 months. 1 Link to comment

sheepiekev
I wouldn't be keen to see Robson either. It reeks of topping up the pension to me. We don't know how much of the budget he'd be taking up. He's earned good wages in the past, so he might accept a lower wage as it's his last contract, who knows. I'd rather we spent the money on a younger midfield player with potential sell on in the future. The likes of Scott Arfield or Murray Davidson for example, although by all accounts, Davidson is hanging on for something in England or SEVCO. Link to comment
a don in oz
Will feel like a massively retrograde step if we get in another mid 30s midfielder so I hope this rumour ends up being a great big ball of pish. Link to comment

forbesz1903
we should be spending the money on a decent right back and get ryan jack into the midfield! The Boofon
this is the thing i know its an extreme example, but Moravcik is an example of how older players should not all be tarred with the hughes/naysmith brush who knows if it'd work out or not, but comparing him to those signings is just lazy That's a good point mate, however you could just tell he was a class player early doors. Not saying Robson hasn't had his moments but nowhere near the same ability did i compare him to moravcik you complete and utter simpleton?Well you're not comparing him with Hughes or Naysmith. You also brought Moravcik into the debate in an extreme example way. Who are you comparing him with? Link to comment

rossafc92
I can't imagine McInnes sees Robson as a player who will feature regularly in the first team. Will probably play on a rotational basis, providing cover in a few positions as well as experience. His left foot will come in handy too for corners, free kicks, penalties etc. Can see where some people are coming from when they question bringing in Robson and getting rid of the likes of Rae, but it's not simply a case of taking undoing what he's done, because Robson is a very different type of player. Still holding out hope this is just balls. My thoughts exactly... I would have taken him 10 years ago, even 5 years ago when he was hitting 30, Now knocking on 35, I just don't see the reasoning behind it. What, exactly, would Robson's role be? Link to comment

Robson's fitness permitting, I see us playing 4-3-3 next season with a 3 of Jack, Flood & Robson, with young lads such as Smith, Storie & Low providing the midfield back up. Hughes will still be lingering about as no-one will take him. Front 3 of McGinn & Hayes either side of whatever centre forward we bring in. Link to comment
