Deadly "ecstacy"

Recommended Posts

isn't this finally proof that drug laws are archaic and to blame here, rather than the usual 'drugs are bad' nonsense that gets spouted out.

If drink was illegal and made in underground caves by bad people who were only in it for the profit (unlike distillers who make whisky for the love of it, not the money) you wouldn't know what you were drinking when you finally got a hold of some bootleg. Wouldn't mean alcohol is inhernently bad as you gulped down your paintstripper coloured with caramel, it would mean the supply system was ridiculous.

About twelve years ago I lived in Norwich and me and my mate bought a bag of 'green playstations'. A few days later there was a story in the local paper about a lad who had died after taking one.

I was a bit naive and told my mate the story. His response was 'the ones that kill people are usually the best ones.'

You know what, he was right. They were fucking amazing.

A quality E is just about one of life's best pleasures, the snowballs in the 80's were amazing, best £20 you'd ever spend.

Only reason people are dying is because its so hard for the makers to get hold of MDMA these days, so I'm told.

If drugs were legal and regulated there wouldnt be an issue. Well, there would, there would be addicts etc but they could be assisted from some of the money made from the sales.

It would also amongst other things;

Kill an underground, illegal industry over night

Take a massive amount of pressure off the police and court system

Make the government millions in tax

Cut down people smuggling and slavery

On the green things, wouldnt touch them myself. Back in the day I wouldnt touch any of the coloured shite, never trusted it. Not from the day I bought these greenish pink large diamond shaped things at Faithless in the music hall and instead of getting all euphoric I had my first ketamine experience. That wasnt that much fun.

Ketamine is interesting, as in 'why the f3ck would anyone want to feel like this' kind of interesting.

Taking ketamine is like learning a martial art. To start off with you get kicked to fuck a lot, take a few clean in the face and have no idea what just happened. Get up to green or blue belt though and you become a master of it. Then and only then does it become a whole bag of time warping fun.

where i live some are saying dealers are mixing a small % of cocaine into social drug mcat

presumably trying to get the kids hooked.

I suggest some are talking bollocks, bottom end dealers are not sophisticated long term thinkers, they buy in bulk and sell for a profit, they'd maybe put glucose or something into the mcat to bulk it out but never coke. They live week to week, deal to deal.

I've never taken any kind go illegal drug butni agree that there needs to be a radical shakeup of the drug laws.

Have any of you read "High Society" by Ben Elton?

I read it several years ago but I thought it was a great read and he went into the idea drugs being legalised.

"If people die, give it a try" - Bad Mobby, 2012.

Sounds like these are not just extra strong pills, which back in the day would've drawn my attention, but pills containing toxic (deadly) chemicals. Nae fine and I feel for the parents of these kids who are dying as a result.

I never understood the people who took a pill then drunk water all night, I took the pill then got fucked on beer, double the pleasure, :dancin::cool:

It was well documented in the media in the early 90's that Ecstacy dehydrated you. They were constantly reminding ravers to drink water. I remember one rave night at Ritzy's (or was it the Hoochie?) they turned the drinking water off in the toilets and started charging folk for tap water at the bar. Obviously Ritzy's were nae happy about no-one buying booze. However the fact that they may have been committing a crime by endangering their own customers overlooked them.

The drinking water thing came to a head in 1995, when Leah Betts died after taking a pill. Initially it was publicised 'See, we told you E's kill!' but it wasn't long before we found out that Leah died as a result of drinking too much water. She essentially drowned trying to follow the media hype.

Bollocks. Dayts is correct, glucose and/or Epsom salts etc. Something harmless like that (although you may get a bit of diarrhea).

mcat / khat is shit but the kids love it, they've obviously never taken real plums. :0)
