Sky Sports understands Middlesbrough keeper Connor Ripley is training with Aberdeen ahead of a possible loan switch.

The Dons are looking to bolster their keeping options ahead of the 2013/14 campaign and will cast an eye over Ripley before looking to put a short-term deal in place.

The 20-year-old shot-stopper has figured in the senior fold at Boro, but remains some way down the first team pecking order at the Riverside Stadium.

He was allowed to take in a loan spell at Oxford United in 2011/12, so would not be entering the unknown where he to link up with Aberdeen.

Ripley is the son of former Blackburn Rovers and England winger Stuart Ripley and was included in Peter Taylor's squad for the U20 World Cup in Turkey this summer.

Hopefully could get him in and after a decent season get him permanent

He was also at the 2013 u20 World Cup so obviously something there.

Tommy Wright played for the England U19s and U20s.

Leon Mike played for the England U18s.

Let's not get overly excited about that particular pedigree just yet.

The duo rose to prominence at a staggeringly young age -- a 17-year-old Buffon famously kept a clean sheet on his debut with eventual Serie A champions Milan in 1995 and made his international debut just two years later. Casillas, too, made his senior debut at 17 and was an international -- and a European Cup winner -- by 19.

Lets hope Mchun can see age is no barrier.

Know nothing about him so shouldn't really comment, but I will, loaned to Oxford and got one game... :clangers2: however he's fairly young and:

Think that's him at 1.20 into the vid "Taylor made eight changes at the break and it took a stunning save from Connor Ripley to tip Diego Rolan's shot over the bar."

Displace Langers? Doubtful any time soon I'd say.

At 20 & not near the 1st team, I don't feel he will challenge the clown for the 1 jersey.

Min.

I could hack my erm aff, stick a goalie glove on rhe hand o' it, chuck said detached limb into he six yard box, and still provide a real challenge to thone fucking mongoloid, crisp packet handed defect.

Fuck sake.

Would Boro loan us one of their hopefuls if not going to get any game time? Would be pointless loan.

Would think either he is under contract there and they don't want him any more so put him out on loan or they have hopes he will improve with game time.

This fu*king about with keepers on trail is worrying...surely if Mchun was serious about a replacement he would have snapped up the out of contract Simonsen...I fear the Paisley Spastic has already been told he's got the No1 shirt next season.

The Paisley Spastic will be our unchallenged number 1 next season, make no mistake about that.

I'll be amazed if we get anyone in who's capable of challenging.

If we paid Simonsen £3000 a week...£150,000 a year (which he'd jump at)...that's only 500 season tickets...knowing The Paisley Spastic had been replaced would surely yield around 1500 (conservative) previously undecided to rush out and purchase...giving AFC a £300,000 guaranteed profit...and f'n'd fu*k all to post about.
