Season 2013/14 Predictions

We'll be considerably better than we have been for a long time. I'm pretty certain of that. Not sure how good though... also too many unanswered questions with regards the other teams.

Hearts and Dundee United both look weaker, while St. Johnstone have been very active in the transfer market, but I reckon they've actually managed to weaken themselves by signing guys like Fallon and McDonald! Wotherspoon also - he was crap at Hibs.

Hibs have made a couple of good signings - but a lot will depend on what happens with Griffiths. If they don't get him back they'll be lucky to make top 6.

Ross County and Inverness are the interesting ones for me - both managers did a great job last year, however, this year they've had to rebuilt after losing loads of players. Both have recruited heaps of new players - no idea if any of them are going to be any good! Very hard to predict what either will do next season.

Kilmarnock and St. Mirren look like they could be battling with Partick Thistle in a three-way relegation dogfight.

Motherwell will still be the team to beat outside Celtic. McCall has done a brilliant job there - however, he's lost a few good players, but they've also brought in some quality.

You not think Hearts will be down there? i'd have them as favourites.

I thought so initially, but looking at their list, they haven't actually lost a great deal. I think a lot will depend on how the player react to the financial uncertainty. I would certainly be put off my job if I was worrying about getting paid at the end of the month... or potentially losing it!

I might not have a full list of outs - the players I've got on my screen are: Arvydas Novikovas (Erzgebirge Aue), Darren Barr, Danny Grainger, Mehdi Taouil, Gordon Smith (Raith Rovers), Fraser Mullen (Hibernian), Denis Prychynenko, John Sutton (Motherwell).

Sutton and Taouil were pretty poor for Hearts... Barr and Grainger will be a loss - however, they've brought in Danny Wilson to cover at the back.

Aye but they're starting on -15.

Last season they finished 14 points ahead of a terrible Dundee side.

3rd or 4th depending on whether there is another strong team in the league. There is usually one team that excels above expectations such as Motherwell have done recently.

Cups - who knows. I don't mind getting knocked out of the cup quite as much if we've played to the best of our ability and gave our all, but it's the lackluster pish that really pisses me off.

Smeltic 1st... Motherwell or Aberdeen 2nd.. I also think a Scottish cup final place this year to.... Definitely an improvement on the last few years .... (Could it be any worse though)..

Either way ill be making the long trip north as usual... Follow the reds through thick and thin...

Some realism folks. A string of poor seasons followed by a manager whose cv is average at best and a squad which has as many flaws as strengths does not mean anything is guaranteed. Our team playing attacking football with a decent keeper may well be capable of delivering but equally a cautious don't lose approach will see us mid table. It will be up to our manager and his track record does not speak of such bravery.
