Sheep#1
Anyone been/planning on going? Went through today to see what all the fuss is about. Caught a couple of comedy shows, first was 5 different comedians, all just young students in their early 20s and def won't be giving up their courses for a career in stand up. Second one was just the one guy, Danny Deegan, was a free show in the back room of a pub, was only 10 of us in the audience but was really good, would recommend him. Going about the city is a bloody nightmare though, the streets were not designed for obese American tourists to waddle down, stopping to look at fake kilts and buskers playing the pipes. Sheep#1
Edinburgh Festival is just a gathering of poofs ! Can't argue with that to be fair. Place was full of luvvies, yahs, poshos, hardly heard a local accent all day. Link to comment
Quagmire
The festivals a great weekend away, espicially if you get the weather for it. Plenty comedians/gigs to go see, good atmosphere, plenty boozing to be done and everywheres open until 5am. I'd love it if Aberdeen had something similar. Link to comment
Stoney
Always fancied giving it a try but never bothered. Link to comment

urbanprotection
Was in Princes Street Gardens yesterday as Motherwell scarfers headed up in single file from Easter Road on their summer holidays. Cue Shermans and Japs taking photos of what they thought was a bizarre show promotion with no flyers left. Like a cross between a Chinese Dragon and Chasing the Dagon. Edinburgh during August is generally excellent. Link to comment

tightbreeks
it's a great place to be, the pleasance is usually a hive of action and a great chance to drink with folk off the telly! some cheeky back and forth slaggings to be had. Link to comment

Second guy we seen yesterday, was only the 10 of us there, but he said first show he did last week, was just one person there, how awkward would that be for both parties Sure you will attract bigger crowds than that though Link to comment

Audience weren't really there for comedy. They were just there to drink. I went on first as well. Character building though. The next one was an audience of 7 women and 2 men. Given the content of my material I didn't think it was going to go down well. I actually thought half way through that the girl who was pissing herself almost throughout (I think she was a bit drunk) was starting to annoy the rest of the audience.Plus I needed a huge shit the entire 10 mins and was hurrying through it so I could go and offload. Edinburgh is hoaching with hoors, poofs and junkies at the best of times, this increases tenfold during August. Link to comment
