minijc
Noticed this has started again, first two games I watched us we left one up on the halfway line, now we are not doing this, very negative especially against a team like Alloa, this needs to stop. 2 Link to comment
dunc_afc
It's infuriating, noticed at one point we had a corner and they left a guy somewhere around the halfway line so we left 3 back to mark him. It's so hard clearing the pressure with everyone in our box and vice versa preventing the opposition from clearing properly with loads back. Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
It's a Jamie Langfield thing. All down to him & you can see this is true by how mental he goes if anyone dares to stay out during a corner. Thought McInnes had nipped it in the bud though but obviously not if it was happening again last night 1 Link to comment

K-9
First time had seen it this season yesterday in last 10 mins as we tried to hold on to force extra time. Embarrassing!! Link to comment
K-9
And for those corners Alloa had left 3 back. So 3 back, 1 taking corner and of course the keeper meant we had 11 back to deal with just 6 Alloa players!! Link to comment
boboisared
I saw Man Utd with all 11 back against Swansea. I'm sure I've seen Arsenal doing this too. Bizarre tactic. Link to comment
boboisared
im RELATIVELY certain davie moyes (and fergie before him) and arsene wenger knew what theyre doing cheersI did mention that at the end of last season but I just find it peculiar. Clear the ball and you're up against it again. Link to comment
supermario
Langfield tweeted about this when Brown was in charge. Said he was strongly against it cause it crowds the box and invites the opposition to put more players up! Link to comment

Said he was strongly against it cause it crowds the box and invites the opposition to put more players up!You just made that up because Brown was quoted as saying that it was the way Jamie Langfield likes it.& this has been confirmed (by myself included) at countless games where a player dares to hang around the halfway line only to be lambasted by Clangers & called back into the box. Watch him yourself next time someone stays out (if they dare) Link to comment
Ingolfsson
This, and inverted wingers can really GTF. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
good so jamie commands respect? niceNo they are all worried he'll report them to the police if they don't suck up to him. Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
Looking a great deal more organised at corners & thankfully, we rarely have two men out taking our corners also. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24857012 Wee link (Pat Nevin I know) but it's actually pretty interesting to watch & makes a lot of sense & (with the emphasis on the counter attack) this type of defending benefits on leaving a man (or even two) out field up the park. ericblack4boss
When I asked Brown about he maintained that Ferguson once told him that an empty box favours the attacking side. So that's why he did it. Link to comment
