Given the fact he plays for the rangers he'll probably still be able to play while he's banned for the three games. Joke sentence. He should be banned for life. Likewise any player betting against his own team. Even our ones. Link to comment

I'd easily take a weeks wage fine for what is around 2 months off work which he'll get paid for. Link to comment

The 7 games are suspended until the end of the season, Joke decision. Link to comment
E-P-K
The first game he can play again, is 28th September, against Stenhousemuir. 16 day ban. Link to comment
a don in oz
OUTRAGEOUS sentence. Fraud, corruption, and you get a 3 game ban. Totally disgraceful. Link to comment
tup
The thing is its not really the sentence that is the joke. Its Scottish football per se. Suddenly expecting newly enlightened authorities to do things properly and fairly, given their behaviour over the sevco debacle, is absurd. It was never going to happen. This is in line with the decisions made during that spell and is no surprise at all. The only surprise is that folk are still surprised by these things. Link to comment
zander
They have the cheek to say the world is anti the rangers. Who sentenced him we demand to know. Link to comment

Monkey
Looking at the reports about the three games he bet "against" his team I can see why the panel may have come to their decision that a ten game ban was appropriate. The value of the stakes for his bets has been reported to have been under £50 and the bets were apparently on fixed odd coupons and accumulators. In the two games he bet that Hearts would lose, a game against Motherwell and one of the Spurs games, he was not playing in either game and for the Spurs game Hearts had already been pumped 5-0 at home in the 1st leg. (Ironically they drew 0-0 in London so he would have lost that bet)And in the Rangers game he bet on them to draw with East Stirling and he scored to make it 3-2 to the Huns. I'm more surprised at the decision to suspend the 7 games, that's the part that I think is fishy, leaving him serving just a three game ban is overly lenient I think. When you consider what offences have carried actual three game bans. Be interested to see what action The Rangers take, perfect opportunity to sack him for gross misconduct and save £7,500 per week which they must need to do. Link to comment
tup
I see the whole thing as having been instigated by sevco. McCoist appearing to back him publicly is just atypical hun double dealing. They will sack him because that's why this was made public in the first place. By the huns themselves, nothing is more certain. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
I've just got hold of McCoists 10 page list of other football players that he knows have been betting on matches. Here is the first page:- Trialist A Trialist B Trialist C Trialist D Trialist E Trialist F Trialist G Trialist H Trialist I Trialist J Trialist K Trialist L Link to comment
