We have recently had to deal with a regular poster using a second account on the forum and posting with both accounts and thus pretending to be a different person for a variety of reasons.

 

Can we remind folks that this is one of the few things that are against the rules as we think that one account is enough for everyone and sockpuppets are not allowed.

Fucksake i have a second account but have not used it to any gain only for icons (that is all i was going to post with it) hence the username icon

The rep system has been removed due to a bot/hacker with a China/Ukraine/Russia IP trying to use an SQL attack of the forum by hitting the site with +1 -1 requests and then trying to inject code when it returns an error. Unfortunately IP.board didn't include flood control with the rep system like they did with search. It's the reason why we've been having some forbidden errors.

What I found amusing was when a person that I strongly suspect is a sockpuppet created a sockpuppet for his sockpuppet, then had the second sockpuppet award the third sockpuppet cash prizes in order to...

 

...well, I'm not sure why.... but it was still funny.

The mods are obviously protecting someone they deem "important" to the site.

 

Much like the BBC and major outlets do the new rangers.

 

Until they explicitly reveal names, they are the rangers sympathisers to me.

The poster in question should have both accounts removed and be named and shamed.
