Child Missing - Aberdeen

Great she was found safe and well but when I saw it all over the internet and saw how little time she'd been missing my first thought was fucks sake give her a break, it was way too early to ring the alarm bell, two hours is nothing for a kid that age, down the park or playing at a mates house, was far too early to go into facebook hysteria mode, changed days and better safe than sorry but the people who were over worrying about her just made me think fuck sake, they love a drama.

They'll be 8 years old in Tilly or Torry that would have been away from their folks from breakfast till dusk today, no one would notice they were missing till they never turned up at school tomorrow, a Hazlehead kid does the same for a fraction of the time and internet World turns into a wild goosechase.

Sorry Geoff, not having a go at you but maybe a 8 year old with a pink top, blue jeans and blonde hair is missing would be better, I read loads of stuff since she was missing and was still none the wiser what she looked like or what she was wearing, just people saying god pray for her, blah blah......

Me stopping every kid that age I saw would have seen me arrested.

Rant over.

The main thing is she's safe and no doubt sleeping.

9 year old going missing on their own = shite single mother.

or remember the story of the young girl from newcastle; in the early 90s i think.

left her grannies home late a night to walk home never to be seen again. well untill her body turned up in an abandoned warehouse taht is.

mistakes happen but lot of the time they can easily be prevented by decent sensible parentin

I used to go to the swimming pool without parents/adults in tow when I was 9. Took my younger sister as well.

I guess that ain't too acceptable nowadays though...

At my nieces primary school there are primary 7's who still get dropped off and picked up by their mothers.

When I was at the same school anyone who was walked to school by a parent from the first month of primary 1 onwards would have seen you getting a hiding and a relentless amount of torment.
