Hearts Fans Perspective

Hello dandy dons, a new member to your forum here.

I wasn't able to get to the game yesterday due to work commitments but I've watched the highlights of the game this morning.

I had a look in this forum last night as a guest and I must say after watching the highlights I think some of the reactions to the performance of the referee are a little one sided, understandable obviously.

The first penalty claim involving Pawlett I think he actually kicks Hamills leg and trips over. It all happens very quickly but I don't think Joe attempts to bring him down. I think the referee made the correct decision however I wouldn't have had too many complaints if it had been given either.

The second claim involving McGowan the ball clearly hits him square in the puss for lack of a better term. Again the referee in my opinion made the correct call.

The one that was given against McGhee I think it's pretty clear that the ball hits him on the back. The referee on this occasion did your team a favour I think most likely because he had already turned down two appeals. This is one aspect of refereeing I find very frustrating, the tendency to send someone off or give a penalty etc because you feel you may have made a mistake earlier.

As for the sending off of Barry Robson it looks like he clearly leaves the wall and closes down the ball before it is kicked for his first yellow card. I honestly wouldn't have any arguments if that was one of our players booked.

The second incident there did seem to be universal agreement amongst your support that it was a clumsy challenge and worthy of a second yellow. It's always frustrating when one of your players gets sent off for two silly moments but by the letter of the law I think he had to go.

The game as a whole seemed to be very entertaining and I was really impressed by the large crowd inside Pittodrie.

I hope this doesn't come across as patronising but I would really love to see a good Aberdeen team playing in front of a packed crowd at the business end of the Premier League table and competing for honours again. You're one of the few big clubs we have in this country.

All the best for the rest of the season.

Its quite clear the ball didn't hit his face - if it did the normal hearts reactions of falling on the floor rolling around looking for the game to be stopped would have kicked in.

And it is no good preaching about "letter of the law" when Hammil made 3 clear yellow card challenges - where is your letter of the law then?

We four out our last five and only have ourselves to blame for yesterday a bad day at the office.

We are better than hearts by some distance, once the fixtures start becoming a bit congested they are going to really struggle with their threadbare squad and will do well to end in the relegation playoff place come the end of the season.

We will learn from this, we still are quite a bit away from being as good as we can be.

Obviously I can't comment on Hamills challenges as I wasn't at the game. I wouldn't be surprised however by any accusations. He is a bit of an arse and most Hearts fans would agree. He spends most of his time on the pitch winding up the opposition players and fans. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. His main problem is he thinks he's better than he is. He was a mediocre full back and is an even worse midfielder. He can take a penalty which has been his saving grace this season.

I would say I think the reason we have beaten both yourselves and Hibernian home and away this season is because you saw us as an easy mark. The supporters expectations filter down to the players and cause them to play in a manner they wouldn't normally. Hearts have been guilty of this for many years now also. Turning up and just expecting to beat the likes of Kilmarnock Ross County etc.

All in all a great victory for the Hearts and a disappointing defeat for the Dons.

Take it as a sign of respect that we are so chuffed with beating you twice.

I don't think that's a fair point to make at all. Yesterday's defeat had nothing to do with that. There are two reasons for yesterday's result: Brines and Robson.

That assessment may be more suited to the game at Tynecastle at the end of August, I think it's fair to say our players were caught slightly off guard. I don't think the players were under any illusions as to the task in front of them yesterday. It was certainly the case up until the red card. That's what caused us to lose the game and not any of the players thinking they were in for an easy ride.

Ok, as I wasn't at the game it might be unfair of me to make that assumption. As you said I think it applied to the game at Tynecastle and I think it applied to both derby games.

There are always turning points in games and obviously McGinn missing the penalty and Robson getting himself sent off were huge.

What were the Hearts goals down to in your opinion? Was it tiredness in your side or renewed belief from us? Defensive errors or attacking prowess? Honest question.

I felt we were still trying to organise ourselves a bit at the time of the first goal. Think it was Anderson who seemed to lose track of Walker though as he anticipated the ball dropping from the header. Langfield seemed to be caught in two minds which meant that if Walker got there first it was a certain goal.

Second goal partly a result of us trying to get ahead again. Terrible defending from Hector on the right, with Walker effectively dancing past him. Hector did look knackered at that point though, but there was a lot of room for Walker to run into from Hamill's pass and should never have been able to get so far unchallenged. Reckon our attempt to find another goal though meant we were unorganised in that sense.

The third is purely from us trying to find an equaliser. Everyone including Langfield was up for the corner. Langfield had managed to make it back as Hayes had blocked the ball played forward when Langfield was still well out. The ball was eventually played to Stevenson though, but it didn't matter if the keeper was back or not - cracking finish right across goal and into the top corner.

Quite sad that a fan who's club is in such a desperate state has got to try & come on hear & be a wum & try to revel in a victory that (at the end of the season) will do fuck all towards helping his side stay up.

Laughable in fact.

Enjoy your victory it's just one of very few you will experience this season. Credit to your club in getting two of the few against us though.

The only thing that will make up for the two results we've fucked up against your shite side this season, is if your devious, corrupt, non debt paying (even to bloody charities) club gets liquidated before the season ends & the results are wiped from the records.
It won't happen but we can but dream, just like the charities you owe money two can dream on if they think they will see the money the club owes them.

Credit to SOME of the fans though, that did donate towards the charities though to try & save the shame & name of such a scum bag club.

I'm really not trying to troll but do Aberdeen owe any money to anyone? Do you think that money will ever be repaid in full?
